After a 30 minute beautiful drive to the brewery up I-90, "poured" into the closest cup I could find which ended up being a plastic solo cup from my car camping box in the gargage. This is due to me not having a stop valve on my co2 when this over filled corny keg ($45 for ~5 gallons) was "plugged in". A nice deep tan head with darker cocoa undertones is flowing over like a foam ice cream cone in the cup. Solid retention and some lacing lingers even on my plastic throw away cup. Smell is of fantastic dark malts with cocoa coming through strong and some roasted malts and chocolate but not too sweet goodness. The taste is similar with a slight bitter bite not from the very mild IBU's but from the roasted malt. This beer is the perfect sessionable porter, and is about as good as you can do for the style but can't achieve world class marks as a sessionable porter due to the very straight forward nature and lack of complexity compared to something like a Belgian Quadrupel. That isnt to take away from what should be the archetype of the style. This stuff is good. Highly recommended.

Thanks to mrbubbler for sharing this one at Retsinis' tasting.

Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a huge foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and slight char aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and cookie dough flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a high level of carbonation with a crisp and prickly mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that pours super foamy like there is some sort of infection issue, but I am not getting any aromas or flavors that indicate infection.

Poured aggressively at a good temperature with a smallish, foamy, tan head that soon settled to a wispy island and ring - no lace. Color is a very dark, clear mahogany. Aroma is dark roasty malt, cocoa, hint of raisin and molasses. Flavor follows nose closely, is tang and sweet up front, turning dry and bitter and finishing with cocoa sweet. Body/carbonation good if unusually warming for a 5 %er. Finish is as above, on the long side, and quite drinkable.

bomber into a snifter @ room temp

Pours an opaque black with a big 2 finger creamy beige head. The aroma is of chocolately malts, though not too strong. Real creamy taste, some burnt coffee and chocolate notes, very malt dominated. Just the right kick of bitterness on the backend too. Flavor is all around excellent. Body is on the lighter side of medium with some nice carbonation. Creamy and super easy to drink.

Overall a very nice porter all around that i liked more and more as the bottle went on. Very much recommended.

22oz bottle into an imperial pint glass. Pours a deep cola brown w/ a 2-finger tan head that settles to a dense pillow of foam. No real lacing.

Aroma is roasty, chocolatey, balanced, clean. Reminds me of Founders Porter, one of my favorite of the style.

Taste follows nose. Dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee beans, vanilla. Excellent balance, just the right level of bitterness. Throw a scoop of ice cream in the glass and we're in business.

Mouthfeel is likewise balanced, smooth, easy drinking. Finishes semi-dry.

Overall a rich, satisfying, rock-solid porter. Again, comparable to Founders. Well done Snoqualmie.
