Any time you go to Buffalo, or even Rochester for that matter, make the shortr drive to Tonowanda for Buffalo Tap Room. Well worth the trip, my buddy and I went out there today as we do every couple weeks. With 21 beers on tap they always have what you're looking for. The atmosphere isn't much different from any other restaraunt style bar, the family dining is separated from the bar, though there are tables by the bar. The service was pretty good and knowledgable. By the way, parking is great.

Tap Room is a nice place to grab lunch. Chicken wings, Burgers and the Banana Pepper Dip are excellent and well priced. The bar is separated from the dining area which is nice. The bar seats about 20 and has many high top tables that can be sat at. The beer selection is very weak and the house beers are drinkable, but they are not anything special. If you are in the area for Chicken wings and do not want to try Duffs or Anchor Bar the wings here will hit the spot, but the beer will leave you wanting something more. Bartenders did not offer suggestions, but were very pleasant and did allow me to sample the house beers before I chose which one to drink.

I wish this place had a better beer menu. None of their house beers are that great and they do not have a wide selection of other beer to chose from that interests me. You see lots of people drinking/ordering Blue and Molson which is not what I want to see in a "tap room". They have about 20 taps but the best you will get in perhaps a Burning River or a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. If this aspect was better, I would spend a lot more time here.
Their food is quite good and the service is always prompt and efficient. They have lots of TV's and even turn the volume over their loudspeakers for Sabres games which is cool.
Worth a look but you might be disappointed in the beer selection.

I tried their IPA and wasn't too impressed. They used to carry Hop Devil but I'm afraid that they no longer do. That's okay though, they have Great Lakes Burning River on still. Their crowd seems to be more into Labatt, Molson, and the likes, so I can't imagine that they go through too much craft beer. I'd rather they limit their selection than sell stale beer. Bottom line...don't go there for the beer, but rather for the food...knowing that you can get a couple pints of some pretty good beer with the meal.

My first time at this place but I can say this most definently will not be my last. From the outside it doesnt look like much just a plain white building with a big window in front with a few written specials like the every Friday fish fry and stuff,as you walk in you see the place is bigger than what it looks from the outside it is seperated a nice size bar areato the left and main dining area to the right. We sat in the bar wich was quite full but we were able to find a table right close to bar seemed to have alot of regulars situated all around the bar sadly many were drinking the nasty Labatt. With over 15 house brews brewed by CBC a solid well respected brewer in the Rochester area and five other micro taps I was impressed.Stules ranging from an unfiltered rye to a mai bock,IPA,porter and a few fruit beers wich my wife got to Southern Tier Phin and Matt's,andFlying Bison Dawn Patrol Gold,I had the mai bock,IPA, and unfiltered rye all wich were solid but not spectacular.A pretty good menu full of Buffalo favorites I got a small assorted sub and 10 pit bbq jerk wings both were quite good my wife got the chicken parm wich was 2 huge chicken breasts she took over half home and it was very good.If I lived closer I would be here alot but with it being pretty close to Premier I will be here every time I stop in to get my beer fix,a good place with alot of beer styles to choose from.

Upon reaching the bar we were able to choose from 21 different beers on tap. 11 beers were of the Buffalo Tap Room variety. A good range from light to dark and the three that we tried were well done. The bartender gave us ample time to select our flavor and offered a sample before we committed to the house beers. You never know with brew pubs. Sometimes hit or miss and these beers were definately a hit. I also noticed patrons filling up growlers.
This is the second time that I've been here and each has been pleasant. The atmosphere was just above average. Hard for bars in the Buffalo area to get away from the chicken wing/ sports bar/ fire a couple of Labatt's down my throat, mentality

Cheers: Plenty of Custom Brewcrafters brews on, including multiple seasonals. Landmark India Red Ale on tap (Go Kiernan!!). Boise State football game was on. Plenty of parking. Chicken fingers were finished on the grill and included fries. Bar room is huge, big enough to engage in a full out bar brawl.
Jeers: Growlers way overpriced. For those of us that have been to CB, we know how much it costs to fill one up. Bathroom is located about a half mile away down a hallway. Almost got lost and peed in the dishwasher. One has to stumble past families eating and deal with the constant ebb of servers coming and going out of the kitchen. Last call was at freaking 1 AM. TVs oddly placed, above the bar. Located in Tonawanda. Bartender was drinking Blue. he should be fired. The majority of the patrons thaf requent BTR drink macro bottles.
