Tap at the brew pub.

Light fizzy head, bright raspberry hazy beer.

Nose sweet raspberry candy and ice cream, some fresh raspberry, hint of soured malts.

Taste light fruit, no real tart or sour, raspberry fruit, almost creamy and mostly dry, acidic and a weird bitterness, tannic like berry stem and light juicy fruit. Light bready malts. Finishes dry, very dry, flemmy and raspberry fruit but more syrup extract than fresh.

Mouth is lighter bodied, a bit thin and watery, decent carb, flemmy and sticky.

Overall not very good, not sour or tart at all!!! just a sweet fruity beer, not quite a mess but just not good.

First had: on tap at their brewpub

While labeled as a framboise, I don't think this is an actual lambic, but more of a general fruit/raspberry beer. Poured slightly hazy with a pinkish/purplish hue, and a foamy head of delicate white-pink bubbles. Clean aroma, smelling of light grains and berry candy. Tart and bitter taste, lots of raspberries of course, dry and somewhat metallic. Light bodied and kind of watery. Didn't really care for this one, but I give it points overall since a beer like this is a bit atypical for a small outfit like VTP&B.

Appears a glowing nuclear red with a liggle bit of carbonation and a small white head that fades.
Smell is of tart raspberries that pretty much drown out any other aroma within the glass's vicinity.
Taste is of huge raspberries with a decently rounded tartness.
Mouthfeel is tart towards the sides of the tongue with a low amount of carbonation.
Drinkability is ok. One and done for me.

64 oz growler grub grabbed at the brewpub. Also had a glass of this on tap.

Pours a hazy reddish pink, almost some purple, a pretty neat colour, was super hazy on tap, thin white head forms and settles down to a thin ring before disappearing, a few spots stick.

Smell is neat, nice fresh berry aroma, neat maltiness, bread and toast, some crackery wheat, strawberry, a bit of alcohol, nice stuff.

Taste is similar, tart raspberry fruitiness, assorted berries, toast, crackers, wheat, alcohol, a bit watery in the finish, but nice stuff.

Mouthfeel is a bit thin, with low carbonation. Slightly better on tap I thought, but still a nice fruit beer. Thanks Russ!

Pours a mild red color with a one finger head into my glass. Appropriate color for such a beer.

Aroma is lush with the essence of rapsberry. It's surprisingly not overpowering.

Raspberry greets the taste buds in a lukewarm manner. Not cloying and not bland either. It's just, well, there.

Mouthfeel has a bit of sourness and lingering rapsberry. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I believe my taste buds have changed. It was mind blowing years ago. Still a good beer.

Deep red raspberry color with a big fluffy pink head, excellent retention and sticky lacing. Looks promising. The aroma is redolent of tart raspberries as you’d expect. The flavor, however, comes up a little short. There’s plenty of fresh raspberries in there but I would actually have preferred some more sweetness, as there’s very little (less than you’d find in a piece of the ripe fruit). The sour aspect of the beer was a little lacking as well. A bit of wheat flavor underneath the berries. Overall a little mystifying I’d say.

Decent mouthfeel seemed just a little shy on the carbonation. Drying finish with a hint of raspberry lingering in the aftertaste.

Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a pale, ruby coloring with no head. Strong, tart, sweet raspberry nose, with not much else interfering. The beer smells amazing. Tart and tangy raspberry on the forward tongue, with a toasty, grainy backbone that remains subtle, only there to provide some balance. The aftertaste is all tart raspberry sweetness, with a cloying finish on a light, crisp body. The fruit is completely spotlighted on this brew, but it has trouble living up to the aromas.

On tap at the source.
golden with a pink tinge to it and a thin off white head that sticks for a bit. Smells of raspberries mostly. Hints of sour and tart underneath, but this one is mostly raspberries. Taste is lightly tart with again lots of berries and a bit of sweet bready malt underneath. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet yet tart mouthfeel. I only got 3 oz of this and that was plenty. Nice if you like a little beer in your raspberry spritzer.

Enjoyed this at the Taste of Marlborough , multiple times.

A - Pours a nice bright almost ruby red raspberry hue, slightly hazy, with a thin fizzy head atop it.

S - Nose pops with lots of bright, sweet candied raspberries. Not fake/artificial, there are some light sour mash and faint oak.

T - Slightly sour and bitter with nice fresh raspberry notes. Like a fresher framboise as this does not have that artificial syrup note to it. Still, the raspberry is rather light.

M - Mouthfeel is very enjoyable here. Light and slightly flemmy.

O - Overall, this was a solid fruit beer. And at a festival with mostly adjunct lagers this really hit the spot.

A-Bright raspberry red with a small white head that faded into a ring.

S-Tart raspberries and a bit of sugary sweetness.

T-Raspberries and then wait...more raspberries. A bit of tartness to make you pucker.

M-A bit thin...lacked any kind of supporting malt body what so ever.

D-Pretty nice, I equated this one to be similar to a weak version of Founder's Blushing Monk...save the fact the BM has a supporting body.

Vermont Pub- Forbidden Fruit

Appearance- Reddish orange with no head.
Smell- Candy raspberries.
Taste- Light malt with a nice touch of raspberries and powdered sugar. Raspberries aren't overpowering which makes this a nice sipping beer.
Mouthfeel- candy sweet at first but settling into a nice mild sipper.

Overall- Much better than I was expecting. Couldn't drink more than 1 or 2 but definitely worth a pint!

64oz growler from the brewery, filled 5-31-10 and sampled june 5/2010.

pours hazy dark pink, not quite red, with a small dense light pink head. the head drops fast and leaves only a few spots of lace.

aroma is nice. raspberry and fruity ale character. whole wheat bread and biscuit. touch of cracker. light alcohol. touch of herbal and light floral character.

taste is nice. lightly tart raspberry. white bread and biscuit. touch of cracker. bit of nutty character from the raspberry seeds. hint of alcohol. light herbal character.

mouthfeel is good. nice light body with a good dry finish. light carbonation level, which seems a bit lower than it was when sampled on tap. i think i liked it with the carbonation it had on tap.

drinkability is good. nicely balanced, hiding almost all its alcohol. not overly tart or acidic either. great raspberry presence that still leaves a nice beery presence beneath.

Here's an unusual beer. 500lbs of raspberries were used to produce this fruit lambic-like beer. Has a murky light strawberry colour to it with a thin pink lace -- like a wine cooler. Clean nose, soft-raspberry aroma and a touch of fruity candy. Strong wheat flavour, crisp, tart and puckering with huge raspberry flavours and a limey / salty citrus bite.

A bit one-dimensional (a fruit overload on the senses), but extremely interesting. Kudos to the brewer for making something so outrageous.

Off tap this award-wining beer was a ruby/garnet color with a thin collar of frothy, cranberry-colored head. The retention was fair and the lacing in streaks. The aroma was of strawberry, raspberry, a touch of wheat and alcohol. The flavors were of tart cranberries, sour cherries, alcohol and some raspberry. Nicely balanced between the sweet and sour elements. Fresh, clean and highly acidic -so much so that I couldn't imagine going through multiples and it would be difficult to pair with food. The mouthfeel was average, the body medium and the carbonation perfectly light.

On tap directly at the brewpub into a mug.

Pours a raspberry-like red body, slight tart aroma that is quite pleasant. A nice acidic raspberry flavor with a relative clean finish. I`d call this a middle of the road ale. Not intense but authentic nonetheless.
