Was able to stop by on a beer tour and was excited to see a place that was part of micro beer history. The basement brewery was like NO OTHER BEER TOUR I've been on. Very unique equipment, making it obvious that this truly was an originator in the field.

Finally got around the visiting the VT institution. No much vibe going but in fairness, there was an ice storm the night before. Nice service, girl was friendly. Lots of choice (10 taps?) including 2 cask ales. Prices are real cheap, especially compared to Farmhouse. Beer was good and i'd definitely come here again.

This was the first pick for our Vermont brewpub/brewery tour. We sat outside to enjoy the sunny October day. Service was fairly quick. For beer we pick the oktoberfest and IPA. Both were good, but seemed run-of-the-mill. Our food was above average. A good spot, but other places have better quality beer.

stopped by for lunch while in the area. nice elevated, outdoor seating right on the square. also offers indoor bar and tables. sampled forbidden fruit and spuyten duyvil which were both OK. food was your average pub fare.

props to Greg Noonan who lobbied and won to open VT's first brewpub in 1988. if anything, the place was nostalgic.

Hung out here on a Saturday night to watch some college football.

Nice spot, located right the middle of Burlington, a block off of the main Church Street walk. Definitely a pub feel, dark wooden double sided bar. Dining areas inside and outside. They definitely let you know they are the oldest brewpub in Vermont.

Good wide selection of beer styles. Nothing crazy, but well brewed beers to style. I tried a half a dozen different pints, and all were good. Moderately priced, good service by the bar tender.

Visited this place on two consecutive nights, Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was somewhat quieter than Thursday but not by much. People tend to gather to this place a lot.

The atmosphere is of a really pub-like nature. Enjoyable, warm, not too noisy, lots of chatter going around, staff walking back and forth - the typical pub. Very nice when you like the style - as I do.

Service was fine, nothing to scream out in joy about, but still perfectly fine. A bit more staff presence would've been nice.

The beer selection is somewhat limited, but what is available is also, to some extent, above average. There are some "okay" beers, but most are more interesting than just "okay." Nothing to get excited about, except 1 or 2 products.

I barely had any food but what I did have was entirely satisfying, without being outstandingly good.

Overall value is good. I wouldn't spend my whole evening there, not with the Farmhouse Tap & Grill and the American Flatbread so close by, but the pub nature of this place (which the other two places I mentioned completely lack) makes it a very good choice to end your evening.

I live in New York and was my buddies best man for his wedding. So a van load of us went to Burlington! Our first stop- The Vermont Pub & Brewery.

As we walked in that early August Saturday of 2012 around noon, the place was all in a roar. There were people waiting out the door at the place. It was big and had a lot of space. Right when you walked in the doors they had a chalk board with all their offerings. There were probably about a dozen to choose from. There was an IPA (pretty good!) pale ales, a dunkelweizen, here, and other standards.

After a 20 minute wait or so (not too bad as we each had a beer or two at the bar) we were sat in a really nice sun room that had two tables. There were six of us at the table and we ordered burgers and appetizers. The food was your typical pub grub but I remember it being great. We got a couple of pitchers for the table and a flight of 6 to 8 beers went around as well. The beers were average to good, but it was a great atmosphere. Where we sat, there was a great view of the city of Burlington with cars and people going by.

Overall we enjoyed out time and the atmosphere was great. The beers were ok and the food was good-prices were reasonable. The only negative I could remember was sitting in that sun room the sun was beating down on us through the glass and it got really hot. But the beers, food and good company made it easy to forget. After our lunch we were off to Magic Hat and our really long day of drinking beers continued! If you are in the area and are looking for a place to stop in for a beer and lunch, this is an excellent place to go!

Stopped by on a mini-beer tour of upper VT. Great feel to this place, with plenty of outdoor seating along with a roomy indoor space. A bit on the awkward side, the bathrooms are downstairs, which can be a bit of a pain in the ass. Other than that, the place is very accessible. Clear view of the tanks as you head back towards the stairwell down to the bathrooms. The bar is on the smaller size for a place this big, but there is an overall coziness to the place. Lots of info and swag from the VT brewing scene along the walls, and it's of the entire scene, not just their stuff, which is pretty cool. They had 12 beers available, one of them on cask, despite the menu advertising always having 2 casks available. The food was decent, and the menu was pretty lengthy, with typical brewpub offerings. Pricing was decent, and we visited with a large group on a Saturday and had a minimal wait. All in all, good visit and good place to chill out and drink some beers.

an old school staple of the Burlington brew scene, this establishment isn't as big as it looks. maybe eight beers on tap, but all the interesting ones were tapped out. had a decent ipa and a better than average flanders red, but neither really impressed me. service was friendly but a little slow on a crowded day, and the food was just okay. I like the vibe though, cool outside area and a small intimate bar inside. I am yet to have a beer from these guys that knocks my socks off, but I haven't had a total miss either. I like the ambition, and the never settling mentality they seem to have about their beer. overall a neat spot, certainly not the best the city has to offer, but you wont be disappointed stopping in for lunch or afternoon beers on the patio.

Atmosphere was lively with a younger crowd compared to a lot of Burlington spots. Beer selection was solid, many more taps than a normal brewery. Vermont Pub and Brewery offers variety of brews, including some limited releases. Service was ok, wait staff and bartender were friendly but not super attentive despite having plenty of staff on the floor. Overall a cheaper option in Burlington but know that many of the beers are not as good as surrounding establishments.
