Third time visiting, first time reviewing. Went for lunch on 6.6.09. Nice outdoor dining area for a spring or summer day. Inside is fairly spacious with lots of wood, but somewhat dimly lit. The place tends to get fairly crowded, so expect to wait for seating if you're with a large party. The food menu was reasonably priced with some typical pub fare, as well as a selection of local favorites (e.g. cheeses, apple chutney, organics, etc.). Service was attentive even though it was fairly busy - never had a dry glass for long. The beer list was fairly well-balanced - an IPA, Herb/Spice beer, Tripel, Blonde, Smoked Stout, Rauchbier, Fruit beer and a few other offerings I can't quite remember. I ordered the sampler (6 - 3oz. pours for $6) and the Fruit beer. The beers for the most part were style consistent, but none really blew me away; however, I would have to say that the IPA was the best of the bunch. Not the best brewpub beer I've had, but fairly soild and many different styles to try. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Burlington area and if you find something you really dig, you can grab a growler to go. (1,135 characters)

if your going to Burlington there are a ton of better places to go. Food is average, beer is average, and the vibe is average. It looks like an old Irish Bar attempting to be a brew pub. The only positive I can say is the staff was nice and friendly when I went with a group of four. We each had a few 3oz beers and weren't impressed with any. (344 characters)

This is where you go when you have nowhere else to go. There are ten other places I would pick over VPB in the same neighborhood. (129 characters)

I moved from Burlington not long ago and this was always a stop when going to the shopping center. The food is decent pub food nothing that I went crazy over. What I liked was trying their beer that was brewed there. The beer menu always was changing and I could find a new or interesting beer every time I went there. It was always crowded which made it feel like a busy place where relaxing was hard when you were seated at a table in the middle of the floor and people were constantly walking by you going in or out of the door. Sometimes I got lucky and got seated next to the windows in the picture or next to the wall. Overall if you are in Burlington stop in and try a local brew you will find something you like. (726 characters)
