Third time visiting, first time reviewing. Went for lunch on 6.6.09. Nice outdoor dining area for a spring or summer day. Inside is fairly spacious with lots of wood, but somewhat dimly lit. The place tends to get fairly crowded, so expect to wait for seating if you're with a large party. The food menu was reasonably priced with some typical pub fare, as well as a selection of local favorites (e.g. cheeses, apple chutney, organics, etc.). Service was attentive even though it was fairly busy - never had a dry glass for long. The beer list was fairly well-balanced - an IPA, Herb/Spice beer, Tripel, Blonde, Smoked Stout, Rauchbier, Fruit beer and a few other offerings I can't quite remember. I ordered the sampler (6 - 3oz. pours for $6) and the Fruit beer. The beers for the most part were style consistent, but none really blew me away; however, I would have to say that the IPA was the best of the bunch. Not the best brewpub beer I've had, but fairly soild and many different styles to try. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Burlington area and if you find something you really dig, you can grab a growler to go.

The east coast brew pub that launched it all (IMO).
VPB has really good local beer crafted on site (of course), it has good pub food like shephreds pie, meatloaf, etc.. and a really nice atmosphere. In the summer sit outside on the deck.
Service is ok, nothing notable.
As a brewpub it ranks among the best.
