Kind of a double review- had on tap last Saturday at RR and wrote some notes, and in bottle tonight. Pretty much the same though.
Golden straw below a pinky finger of beer that drops quickly but lingers on top of the beer for a good long bit.
Smells heavily of Belgian yeastiness, almost to the point of saison-like funkiness. Taste is overall pretty mellow. hopmalt balance is such that neither really make themselves particularly known. Just about what you would expect in terms of belgian ale taste (yeast spice), present but subdued. Not subdued in a weak way, but subdued in a way that shows that RR really knows what they are doing.
Not my favorite BSA, but it is definitely a beer that I can taste and appreciate.
Serving type: on-tap
