Pours a clear gold with a foamy white head that sticks around until the end.
The aroma is full of lemon and dry citrus with a clean fruity ester and it almost reminds me of a bitter pear.
The flavor begins with the usual rush of carbonstion and then it goes full bore into flavor country. I am going to try and describe all that i taste but i know that there is a lot more tha i have trouble identifying amid all the flavors but here goes. It begins with a dry lemony citrus and a strange banana blend amid fruity esters. The hop bitterness is very hard to detect as the apparant spicing is too strong to pick out the hops without a lot of practice. It finishes with a nice lingering spicyness.
The mouthfeel is more viscous than most belgians and I think that RRBC used less kettle sugars than the average golden ale. The carbonic bite lends a refreshing character yet the viscosity lets one know that you are drinking an american belgian style ale.
Extremly drinkable as long as you haven't killed your pallate with a pliny the elder.

a: golden hue with an ample white/slightly off-white head. Small lacing that retains fairly well.
s: On the nose I get pear, apples, and honey.
t: prickly carbonation, slightly tart with lemon, pepper, coriander coming through; finish with floral, spicy hops lingering
m: high carbonation, medium-light body
o: nice beer. I don't drink a lot in this style, but it's one of the better versions I've had in recent memory. This inexplicably sat in my cellar for a year (bottled 4/22/2013), and I am pleasantly surprised at how it has held up. Will get again next time I am within their distributors' range.
