Bought this bottle in downtown San Fransisco about a month ago.
Appearance - Pours a beautiful golden color with a very light haze. Beautiful white head with little retention and very light lacing.
Aroma - Light citrus, slight sour, tartness.
Taste - Very earthy, slightly bitter dry finish. Light hints of spice, citrus, pine?, not quite barnyard but subtle earthy hay like taste. Interesting beer...Would love to drink this on a hot summer day.
Mouthfeel - generously carbonated, fairly dry.
Overall - Good beer, Russian River has yet to disappoint. However, this beer was not quite what I was expecting. For a golden ale I think that it's just different enough to be more innovative than disappointing if that makes sense.
