Pours an initial 3 inch white head that subsides after a few minutes. Golden body, clumpy lacing.

Slight funk to this one.

Belgian yeast is most prominent. Sweet aftertaste that makes my mouth water. Nicely hidden near 8%abv.

Medium mouthfeel, crisp carbonation and dry finish.

I liked Damnation a lot. Nice and crisp, the sweet aftertaste really had me coming back for more pretty fast. Thanks stupac2.

Out of a bottle into a tulip. Purchased at Bobby’s Liquors. Batch 066.

A – Poured out a slightly cloudy straw yellow with a slight half finger of stark white head that receded quickly and left a tiny cap. Minimal lacing.

S – Fruits, clove, grains and definite Belgian yeast.

T – Fruit forward at first with lemon and banana. Little bit of spicy, peppery kick. Clove rolls through with the nice subtle Belgian yeast flavors. It’s a little funky but not overly so. Finished off with a nice tartness that left a drying effect. Small amount of ABV warmness in this one.

M – Light to medium bodied. Middle of the road carbonation. Dry but again not too bad.

O – Complex brew all around with many tastes rolling through the palate. Nice easy drinker that warms you up but does not overpower. Very nice indeed.

had this at the brewpub. Pours a slightly dark, golden colour. You can taste the Belgian characteristics in this one. Grainy and slightly hoppy. Drinks down very smooth and the alcohol is well masked. I'd like a chance to have this before I had their sours and ipas first. Safe to say my palate was effected.

Poured from a 375ml bottle; batch 072...

Appearance: Pours as it states a beautiful hazy golden hue of a body with an off-white head. Retention is lesser with the lacing being modest at best.

Smell: Fruity esters and spicy, yeasty notes come through.

Taste: For a golden ale... the flavor is complex; and beautifully so. Elements of citrus and yeast come through most pressing with the malt and earthy hops supporting humbly while notes of cedar also make presence.

Mouthfeel: Great carbonation through the bottled refermentation creating a light to medium body that packs a flavorful punch finishing clean and dry.

Overall: Easily the best Golden Ale I've had the pleasure of enjoying. Does Russian River ever fall short of great?? Cheers to this one!

Poured into a tulip straight from the brewpub tap
A: A light orange color with a one-finger head
S: Nice mix of fruit, spice and grain
T: Fruity but a nice sweet malt backbone and a bit of spice
M: Medium-bodied, fairly sweet but creamy, pleasant overall
O: Of the three beers I had tonight on tap at the brewpub this was my least favorite, but was still well made and enjoyable to drink

Bottle was purchased and consumed at the Broad Street Bullies Pub at Xfinity Live! in Philadelphia.

Beer was brought to the table uncaged and uncorked along with the proper glassware, a tulip glass.

A - The beer pours a very cloudy, hazy golden color. A one finger, rather dense head on the initial pour. Small particles of yeast from the in-bottle fermentation are floating around. A small amount of lacing left after drinking.

S - A nice aroma of yeast and fruit-like sweetness.

T - A very smooth, easy drinking beer. There is a mixture of spiciness, along with the classic banana taste. A background of an earthy/grassy taste is noticeable as well. The alcohol is pretty well disguised but does peak through a bit during the sampling.

M - A moderate to heavier consistency. Light carbonation.

O - A good beer. This is a style that I don't normally lean towards but since it was a beer I had never had before and had heard a lot about, I decided to give it a try. I know that I was out at a pub but at $9/bottle, I don't think this is worthy of a repeat purchase on a return visit. It's not that its a bad beer, just simply that for a cost/enjoyment value, I'd get something else.

Pours a honey color into my Chimay glass. It's perfectly clear- seems 100% free of any particles. Initially there is a small soapy looking head which disappears. There is virtually no carbonation in my glass. Aroma: Citrusy, astringent, grainy, spicy, with hints of banana as well. The taste is very nice - I'm picking up a fruity pear taste that's dominant, yet something I did not detect in the aroma. It's got yeasty/spicy elements to the taste as well with a clean, semi-dry finish. Medium bodied and decent coating of the palate going on. Although it warms on the way down the alcohol presence goes very much unnoticed. Overall, I am a bit disappointed, as this is Russian River we're talking about. Maybe I will try this again on the chance that the cork loosened and let some air in before purchase. This was very expensive though.
