Appearance – This one was a very light yellow in color with a terrific retentive head that left some beautiful Belgian lacing.

Smell – The raw Belgian yeast comes out nicely at the nose. The hops are subtle yet balancing as are the traditional Belgian spices.

Taste – The big white pepper and coriander come out sharp at the taste. The yeast makes a big splash as well and carries along the respectful hop balance from the nose.

Mouthfeel – This one was in between light and medium-bodied. It had a tremendous, fluffy mouthfeel and was very smooth on the palate.

Drinkability – This is a great combination of fluffy carbonation and exceptional Belgian flavors.

A: A golden beer with a light haze. It pours with a finger of cream colored, rocky foam and leaves a a fine, light lacing on the glass.

S: A medium strong peppery phenol dominates with a soft malt aroma. A mild orange and apricot fruitiness.

T: Moderate spice, mostly pepper with a touch of clove. Moderate light colored fruit. A soft Pils malt sweetness against a medium-light bitterness giving a balance that is about even. The finish is fairly dry with a light spice in the aftertaste.

M: A fluffy beer with a medium-light body and strong level of carbonation.

O: It's right up there with the best examples of this style with that distinct Belgian yeast character of moderate spice and fruit that dominates this beer.

Batch 001. I'm always excited to have a new Russian River brew sitting before me. Here we have the Redemption Blonde Ale in a 750ml bottle, refermented with brettanomyces. Cork explodes out somewhat violently and almost takes my head off! No wonder Vinnie said to keep this in the fridge. It slowly pours into my tulip glass a crystalline sunshine gold with a huge head of bubbly, sticky white foam. Lots of active cabonation rising from the bottom. Aroma is very vibrant with a sweet sun dried grain backdrop along with a wonderful fruity aspect featuring lemon zest and citrus. Yeast is there with a definite underlying brett twang and floral notes. Really enjoyable, reminds me of a warm summer morning.

First sip brings a crisp, light sun kissed pale grain maltiness that's accentuated by a mix of light fruit flavors and lemon zest. Spicy yeast tones work in followed by a trail of brett. Mellow vinegar and musty hints, the brett shines through nicely without becoming overpowering. I get somewhat of a grape flavor throughout as well. Finishes with a touch of sourness. Everything ends up so well integrated, this is a tasty brew without a doubt.

Mouthfeel is smooth, crisp and dry with plenty of carbonation as well. Goes down easily and is quite refreshing. I could easily see myself drinking mass quantities of this brew if it was readily available. The low abv combined with the wonderful flavor makes it a no brainer. Another solid brew from Russian River. Thanks to Callenak for sending this one my way!

Batch 9; poured into a tulip.

A - Pours a hazy golden brown with one finger of white head. Head dissipates quickly but leaves nice lacing.

S - Smells of bread, Belgian yeast, a bit of lemon and pepper. Very nice.

T - Similar to smell, a bit of lemon up front followed by Belgian yeast and some spice, mostly pepper. Taste of bread follows. A bit of earthiness on the finish. This is very enjoyable.

M - Medium mouthfeel with a dry earthy finish.

O -- Really enjoyed this and would definitely get this again.

I enjoyed several samples of this tasty brew at the Bluezapalooza beer fest @ Mammoth Mtn, in the Sierra, reviewed from notes (yeah I was that guy at the fest taking notes.) Poured cloudy light yellowy amber, with a wispy, fine, active near white head, and leaving plenty of fine lacing. Spicy nose and flavor notes, yeast, coriander and tasty Belgian spice. Love the style, so it was a treat to try this highly drinkable brew fresh on tap and have a chance to chat with some of the friendly RR servers. Highly recommended.

Poured into a tulip

Appearance: minimal head, hazy, gold in color, high carbonation

Smell: Belgian spices, pineapple, funk, and hay

Taste: honey and hay at the start, then the Belgian spices and funk come in with a bit of apple rind

Mouthfeel: light bodied, high carbonation, sweet and funky in the beginning with some bitterness to the end.

Drinkability: A very good Belgian Pale Ale that I wish I had more access to. The flavors are nice and funky, a bit soft, but blend really well. I could have a couple of these.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. Batch 008.

The beer pours a very light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is lemons, wheat, oranges and Belgian yeast. The flavor is yeast, citrus fruit, pepper and bubblegum. The beer is very juicy tasting. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not incredibly complex, but a nice, flavorful Belgian single. Glad I got to try this one.

Tap @ Stone Beer Gardens. Pours clear gold with good carbonation and a frothy white head. Yeast esters, banana, clove, and spice fill the nose. Light mouthfeel compliments the taste. Banana, lemon, breadiness up front with malt and spice in the back. Like a Belgian Pale crossed with a trippel. Yum.

A bottle from batch 11 poured slowly into a tulip to allow the yeast to remain in the bottle.

A-3 fingers of large bubbled foam that breaks down moderately fast. A clear (thanks to leaving the yeast in the bottle for now), light golden brew with lots of lively effervescence.

S-Fruity esters with a hint of sourness, hints of clean malt as well.

T-Yeast dominates upfront but is balanced nicely with a fair amount of malt. Slightly sour. A hint of hops gives a bit of an aftertaste, but relatively clean, crisp and dry.

M-High carbonation that works perfectly in this beer-crisp and carries the flavors present. Nice body for this kind of a beer.

D-Outstanding-this is a great beer to enjoy multiples of...now if I just had more.

O-A really nice, well put together beer. Definitely tastes Belgian.
