Presentation: Really cool presentation! Attractive label with eye-catching logo and text. This beer is corked with a wire cage holding cork in place. Cork says Russian River and gives a graphic of glassware to be used. Back label is also very creative giving the definition of “Redemption” as well as a detailed description of the beer. Also, just in case you missed it on the cork, the appropriate glassware to be used is indicated again as well as the appropriate pouring method.
Appearance: Poured out of a 12 oz. Corked bottle into a 16 oz. Snifter. Pours out a cloudy hay like yellow with a 1 finger airy white foam head. A good deal of carbonation rises from the glass. Lacing was excellent. Head retention was amazing, sticking around for the entire length of consumption. Only after 14 min did it slightly dissipate into a foam coating.
Smell/Aroma: Smells of lemon, clove, and banana. A light sourness along with a slightly yeasty smell is also detectable.
Flavor/Taste: Tastes of grassy earthy hops with hints of lemon and that same light sourness that shows up in the smell. Lemon is the dominate taste as it comes back through on the back end.
MouthFeel/Drinkability: Definitely on the very light end of medium bodied with this beer. It has an above amount of carbonation as well. The effect of the head retention gives it a slightly more thick feel than it actually has. Very drinkable, goes down easy!!!
Overall/Comments: This is only my second Russian River beer and first out of a bottle. I was very impressed! Very good beer from start to finish. Highly recommend! Classified as a Belgium Pale Ale at 5.5%. Batch 12. Consumed on 11/20/2012.

Served in a tulip glass.
A: Pours a hazy straw color, with a thick, three-finger head and intense lacing - leaves a layer of foam on the side of the glass. There is a continuous stream of carbonation from the bottom of the glass.
S: Skunk, bile, soap, followed by hay and a light fruitiness. A very weird smelling brew, indeed. It's almost off-putting, but interesting also.
T: Intense wheat with sour grapes, cherries, bread and yeast. Slightly boozy finish.
M: Simply gorgeous. Redemption coats your mouth with a layer of velvet, with very fine carbonation.
O: Weird smell, yet fantastic taste. The mouthfeel and appearance alone are worth searching this one out.
