This was my last brew at Russian River and was definitly a good way to go out. High abv and a hazy dark wood colored with a tan head.
Aroma is burnt caramel, creamy cocoa, slight banana, and some rum soaked rasin.
Taste is right there alongside the aroma. Nice heavy malt presence and a sweetness balanced with bitterness. Vanilla and earthiness. I'm interested to see what this brew will do with age.
Unfortuatly, it's a slow sipper. The flavors are deep and intense, not crisp and sharp. Take your time and enjoy this over an hour. Also make sure it's not ice cold! The pub did a good job at this, so really this is just a warning for those who get bombers.
Serving type: on-tap
