A- Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with some reddish hues when held to light. Produces loads of thick tan head that stays at around a finger and doesn't go anywhere, good lacing.
S- Dark fruits and yeast are big here, lots of plums, dates and figs and some spice.
T- A perfect blend of spice, sweet dark fruits, bready, thick malts, and sweet rum-like alcohol. The flavor is dark, warm and inviting. There's something hidden in there that almost reminds me of a wheat beer, with banana esters and cloves. Layer after layer of complexity on this one.
M- Full bodied with medium carbonation and a smooth, creamy feel.
O- A truly outstanding Belgian style ale. The flavors are just incredible, it gives some of the best abbey beers a run for their money.
