C&C bottle, batch 010, served at cellar temperature.
Pours reddish/brown with a large foamy light tan head that leaves some sticky spotty lacing and holds a light cap.
Aroma is belgian yeast, bread, fruit such as raisins and figs, very yeasty and bready overall. Very good strength but wish there was more going on.
Flavor is dark fruits, cherries, raisins, plums, figs, black currants, yeast, toasted dark bread, a hint of chocolate, lightly sweet with some alcohol on the finish.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, creamy at times but mostly with strong prickly scrubbing carbonation.
Pretty good Belgian Dark Ale, but I've had better examples that are much easier to obtain for somebody out east. Was really hoping for more due to all the praise RR receives.
