A huge huge thanks to phnphilly for sharing his growler of Perdition with me. You are a good friend John. I have been on a quest to get all I can from RR who can do no wrong by me.
Appearance: The beer pours a an attractive orange copper amber color with ivory head and decent lace.
Smell: More hops up front than I anticipated but is is primarily a funky Belgian yeast aroma and lots of yeasty spiciness. There is a clove and pepper that come and go with an old wood scent that underlines the aroma.
Taste: Malty on the tongue with aged attribute woody flavor, and over ripe fruits bread and sherry, with a healthy dose of spices and yeastiness with a hop attribute to top it off.
Mouthfeel: It has a light creamy body that is very well carbonation and very smooth; perfect for easy drinking.
Drinkability: The drinkability is the beast feature of the terrific beer. It is the type of thing you could drink all afternoon at the pub; (if only RR had a brewpub near). It was a real treat to share this growler with phnphilly and BravoTwo.
Hope this is helpful.
