Gilded white body on the lighter side of the style. Completely opaque. Thin white head. Aromas of bready malts, light citrus, coriander, and pepper. Flavor is very in keeping with the style orange peal and coriander with a touch of pepper. Light refreshing body. Balanced and slightly creamy.

A good buddy of mine travels to the Russian River valley every so often. Do I use the term "good buddy" because he always comes back with something delicious from Russian River Brewing Co? Perhaps.
This trip he returned with a couple of growlers including the Little White Lie. His words, "it's a lot like Hoegaarden". I like Hoegaarden, even now that InBev went "Roger and Me" on the city bearing the beer's name. Well, I still like the taste - that is. I gots no love for InBev. Anyhow, this ale is very Hoegaardeny.
It pours a cloudy straw white. The smell is of wheat, clove, orange peel and the slightest bit of coriander. The taste brought the sweetness of the spices out over the backbone of the wheat. Tasty. Tasty like Hoegaarden. I find that American wits overdo the coriander a lot of the times. This one did not. In fact, I'd say that it was even more subtle in use than Hoegaarden itself.
But all of this was not any surprise to me. Vinnie Cilurzo is a master brewer. This is another fine offering.

This arrived with a very pale, near white color, without much head to speak of. It left a minimalistic lace.
The smell was very appealing. It did have the perfume-like qualities of other beers within this style, well-blended with a good amount of hops detectable in the smell as well as the taste. The malts had to take the back seat but are still apparent. The taste was decent but not too exciting.
The mouthfeel was nice and solid and the beer is definitely easy to drink.

This beer poured a hazy light golden color with a very creamy head. It almost looked like meringue and stuck around for a while. Aroma was lemon, dried orange, coriander as well as some other floral notes that I couldn't pinpoint. Slight bitter but pleasant finish. This white ale is a bit more assertive than most that I have had in general but still very good.

On tap at Russian River.
A- pours a clear cloudy pale yellow color. Standard for what it should look like.
S/T- Heavy on the unmalted wheat. Lots of wheat in the aroma and flavor. More tilted toward the tangy and corriander flavor and less on the citrus.
M/D- Not bad overall. I like the witbiers that come out a tad more citrusy... this one was a bit drier and wheaty. Still tastes good but not one of my favorites.
