(Notes from a March, 2012 sampling)
Pours a translucent dark, almost ruby amber with little head. The aroma screams of citrus and alcohol. The taste is nothing short of fantastic: a moderate sweetness from the malt backbone helps sustain the rigorous amount of hops and booze. I'd say PtY is easy to drink one after the other if not for it being a logistical impossibility.
Even though it's the only place PtY is available on the East coast, it's still nearly impossible to obtain in Philly... unless you're willing to jump through hoops or pay through the nose for it. As amazing as PtY is, no beer is worthy of its level of hype. If you can get it for a reasonable price, though, I highly recommend it.
Serving type: on-tap
