Poured into a KTG snifter.
Appeared a reddish brown color with a beige head.
Smelled sour, with a definite wine presence. Could easily detect the cherries with some other sour fruits mixed in.
Taste is amazing - first you are hit with straight sourness, as though you just squeezed a lemon, then comes in some wine flavors followed by tart cherries in the finish. Truly delicious.
Mouthfeel fits this beer perfectly. Nice and light, but not watery whatsoever.
Overall this is an unbelieveable sour. I love the complexity. Not as funky as I anticipated, but still it was truly a treat to drink. Looking forward to putting the second bottle in my cellar to see what some age can do.

Ruby red over brownish hues with a tan head that goes quickly. Minimal lacing with big sediment at the bottom. Tart cherries, Pinot noir wine and oak notes in the nose. Big tart cherry flavor supported by wine like qualities cloaked in oaky notes in the background. Tartness is cut toward the end by the malt backbone, making it sour and funky but reeling it in before it gets too far out of line. Puckering and tart with vibrant carbonation and a bone dry finish. A sipper for sure and a fantastically different beer.

On tap at the RR Brewpub.
A: deep orange-amber; clear; Large creamy bone-colored head is fairly furable and leaves some lacing.
Aroma: about as good as this style gets (for me).
Flavor: excellent very tart and fruity flaovr. Rather subtle effects from the pinot noir barrel aging, especially in terms of woodiness. Excellent lingering, midly tart aftertaste.
FeeL; smooth; medium-light body; good low carbonation; near puckering tartness.
Serving type: on-tap
