Been waiting to try this one for a while.
Pours a bright amber/copper with a thin white head with lacing.
Cherry is the predominant smell, but also some oak and a touch of tobacco. Also some other lighter fruit smells.
Wow usually don't like sours, but this is unique like nothing I've ever had. Starts out very champagne like with just a hint of cherry and lots of oak. As it goes down, the cherry flavor brightens significantly and leaves a good pucker by the time its down.
Fairly light mouthfeel and a very dry champagne like finish with high carbonation.
This beer is amazingly complex and delicious. Finally a sour I could drink every day and it has to be one that's expensive and comes nowhere near the midwest. I've got another coming in trade and will definitely seek this one out again.

Ruby red over brownish hues with a tan head that goes quickly. Minimal lacing with big sediment at the bottom. Tart cherries, Pinot noir wine and oak notes in the nose. Big tart cherry flavor supported by wine like qualities cloaked in oaky notes in the background. Tartness is cut toward the end by the malt backbone, making it sour and funky but reeling it in before it gets too far out of line. Puckering and tart with vibrant carbonation and a bone dry finish. A sipper for sure and a fantastically different beer.

On tap at the RR Brewpub.
A: deep orange-amber; clear; Large creamy bone-colored head is fairly furable and leaves some lacing.
Aroma: about as good as this style gets (for me).
Flavor: excellent very tart and fruity flaovr. Rather subtle effects from the pinot noir barrel aging, especially in terms of woodiness. Excellent lingering, midly tart aftertaste.
FeeL; smooth; medium-light body; good low carbonation; near puckering tartness.
Serving type: on-tap
