375ml bottle, 7,0% Abv.
Served lightly chilled in an over sized wine glass.
Thanks to futura123 for hooking me up with this one.
Appearance: Supplication pours a murky red-orange-brown with pink tinted edges and is topped by a good sized, very lightly pink tinted head that displays good retention and leaves a little lace.
Smell: Mmmm, this smells delicious! After the Temptation and Supplication, I was not expecting this to smell so good!
Tart cherries, almond, oak and earthy funk dominate the initial sniff with notes of ripe cheese, vinegar, musty basement, a light mineral character, over-ripe fruit and oddly spicy cinnamon noted over the course of the glass. As Supplication approaches room temperature the base brown ale notes become apparent with spiced dark fruit, a nutty quality and some sweetness.
Taste: As the nose suggested, Supplication is a delicious sour. Tart cherries, oak, vinegar, light apricot, musty brett, old cheese, over-ripe stone fruit and a light spicing are all noted in the flavour.
Mouthfeel: Again, Russian River has delivered a perfect mouthfeel! Medium body with a medium level of super smooth carbonation. The acidity is not quite enough to pucker the mouth, but gives enough of a bite to make Supplication insanely refreshing and drinkable. The finish is lightly tannic and dry.
Overall: This is by far the best of the three Russian River sours I have had and the only one that I feel can compete with true lambics. I would love to get another bottle of this in the future.

Batch 009 served from 375ml bottle into snifter.
A- Murkey brown color with a bit of a copper hue. Very little head on this one after a couple of seconds. Some lacing as you move the glass around.
S- Some lemons, cherries, grapes oak and just a touch of funk.
T- Super sour cherries, apples, a bit of a wine like "sweetness", a touch of caramel, and a super dry, sour finish.
M- Drinks exceptionally well for the abv. Slightly tannic, dry, fizzy.
O- Slowly becoming one of my favorite sours out there. Worth the price tag for sure.

on tap at Eureka Burger Redlands
Appearance: cloudy orange/rubyish, one finger off white beautiful head with tiny bubbles and a little bit of lacing.
Smell: Sour cherries are very prominent in the nose mixed with sour apples. Then there are wilder aromas followed by more tart cherries.
Taste: Nicely sour, with tons of cherry and oak flavors. Incredibly balanced with the sweet and sour notes. Not overly sour, just complex and warm. It has some slightly bitter qualities as well.
Mouthfeel: Light, carbonated and bubbly. Very crisp and refreshing. Extremely drinkable. The sourness isn't too overpowering either.
Overall: A truly excellent sour, with very nice fruit flavors. A perfect balance of sour and sweet to keep you wanting another sip.

The first sour I have ever had. Served on tap in a 10.5 oz tulip glass. I didn't know what to expect. Nice Amber Color. Nice small head that settles at the top of the glass and dissipates as you continue to drink. The taste is fruity and bold with hints of cherry, oak and red wine. The cherry taste is there and stays with the beer with every drink. It has become the sour on which I will judge every other sour on.
