Big thanks to brewCzar for the chance to try this!
Clear golden copper with a billowing foamy white head. Huge lacing sticks to the side of the glass while the head never quite diminishes. Hoppy aroma hits you in the face as soon as you open the bottle and never lets up. Grapefruit, orange rind, and just a touch of cat-pee (simcoe hops?). Man, this is bitter. Not the over the top flowery bitter from a Ruination but just a smooth, clean, very well balanced bitter. A little pine in the finish and a nice resiny coating on the teeth. Feel is solid. Not spectacular but cots extremely well leading to a finish that lasts forever.
Okay I get it. This is the benchmark for the "West Coast IPA". Or, if it isn't, it should be. Six percent means it's just over sessionable and it doesn't rip your face off (not always bad!) the way a big DIPA can. Just right.

on tap at Interurban, Portland
Mad off-white lace over pale amber.
Mint leaf and lemon zest on the nose.
Light caramel and toast, some orchard fruits (yellow plum, peach) then light pine, citrus, and resin in perfect ratio.
Tangerine skin end and children’s aspirin linger.
Light to slightly medium, oily, a bit of chew.
Balanced like a katana. So light, crisp, round and just the right amount of hoppy. Deserves its legendary status.
