Had this on tap at the Falling Rock Tap Room in Denver
APPEARANCE: The first thing that struck me about the appearance of this beer was how much it looked like Pliny the Elder. It was golden, crisp and completely clear with a thin white head that receded rather quickly and without much lacing. As the glass went down, it did lace a bit, but just a few wisps here and there.
SMELL: A very strong and pleasant aroma, not quite as intense as Pliny, but close. It was floral and sweet with a hint of pine. Overall, very nice aroma.
TASTE: This is an absolutely delicious beer. In fact, taste-wise, I think I like this better than Pliny. Flowers hit the palate up front and then faded into a nice, what I perceived as almost a cola-like flavor (not sure what that is, prune?) before a fantastic bitterness takes over to wipe the palate clean except for a faint apple and mild citrusy pucker.
MOUTHFEEL: Very nicely carbonated with a tickling sparkle that compliments the bitter finish and aftertaste very nicely. The beer sits very light as well, and given that there is a distinct lack of alcohol in the taste, it would be very easy to get deep into a few Blind Pigs before realizing you've had a few too many.
OVERALL: My notes say "Good lord, this is an excellent beer." I had tried it once before, but I was distracted and not paying attention to the excellent aroma and mouthfeel and certainly not appreciating the complexity of flavor. Of course, I'm not completely sure until I do a side-by-side, but I may like this a touch better than Pliny. Either way, it's a buck cheaper a pint and a little easier to track down.

This brew pours a transparent deep straw color with a one-finger head that dissipates quickly and little lacing. The smell is of subtle grapefruit, pine and peaches. The flavor is juicy grapefruit, peaches and bitter citrus rind, supported by a malty, bready backbone. The mouthfeel is sticky and resiny with a slick finish. Overall, this is addictively good stuff that you dream about, much like other Russian River offerings.
