On-tap at Barely and Hops 2/12/11
A: pours deep orange with 1 finger off-white head and minimal lacing on the glass. Beer has a great color.
S: Impressive piny and grassy hops and strong citrus.
T: Piny and grassy with less citrus than expected. Moderate hop bitterness and slightly sweet on the back end. No alcohol flavor or feeling.
M: Smooth with moderately high carbonation. The medium body is quite nice.
D: Drinkability is slightly above average for the class. The lower ABV makes it a little more sessionable.
Hats off to RR for making such exceptional beer. There are 5 or 6 other beers that I would give this grade or higher to.

Acquired from smanrob in a trade. A great trader!
Appearnce - It looks like an IPA should, a light copper color with a white head. Lacing was noted around the glass.
Smell - Pine was noted as the dominant part of the aroma. It was not a dominant aroma, but it left a mark.
Taste - I read in a thread that Blind Pig and Pliny are like licking a pine cone. So I will get that impression to the front and suggest pine is the dominant initial taste. It is not overly bitter. Orange rind and the sourness of grapefruit are also very present. Toward the back, the taste fades quite a bit. That is my greatest disappointed.
Mouthfeel - Lightly carbonated and fairly smooth, this one goes down easy.
Overall - This is not my favorite style but I can certainly appreciate a well crafted beer.
