Many thanks to brother BA mikesgroove for this gem. Consumed on 11/01/08.
Golden in color with a pillowy white head. Left great, sticky lace throughout the glass.
Aromas whafting with complete, unabashed, piney, citrusy hoppy goodness. Very fresh in the nose and hardly abrasive.
Smooth on the palate, very much so actually. Amazingly fresh and vibrant hoppy flavor with great bitterness to boot. Long lingering on the palate with the hops. Great play, really, with the light malt character and the heavy hops... IMHO, the way an IPA ought to be. Because of that, Blind Pig shoots up the charts as one of my favorite IPAs made to date.
Fantastically drinkable, mid-level in body, and highly sessionable based on above notes. My first venture into Russian River was a highly successful one. Splendid.
Many thanks to mikesgroove, again, for this one.
