Poured from a bottle dated 11/07/11 into a 20oz nonic.
A. Pale amber with a good white head. The head disappears quickly to leave a ring of bubbles.
S. A bit muted, I thought. Really had to swirl the glass around to get much of an aroma, but what's there is very nice indeed. Earthy, floral hops, a bit of skunk (and in a good way, and some citrus. I'm not getting any malt in the nose.
T. Now we're hitting the good stuff. More earthiness and plenty of citrus from the hops. There's malt in there but it's not sweet, it's just providing some balance without making itself too obtrusive. Very nice finish without being too bitter.
M. On the full side of medium.
O. I got this bottle more than week ago so maybe I should have drunk it sooner but I don't think it's suffered for all of that. A seriously nice IPA with plenty of character. Definitely one to buy again.

on tap at Interurban, Portland
Mad off-white lace over pale amber.
Mint leaf and lemon zest on the nose.
Light caramel and toast, some orchard fruits (yellow plum, peach) then light pine, citrus, and resin in perfect ratio.
Tangerine skin end and children’s aspirin linger.
Light to slightly medium, oily, a bit of chew.
Balanced like a katana. So light, crisp, round and just the right amount of hoppy. Deserves its legendary status.
