Poured from a 16 oz bottle into a DFH IPA glass. Acquired in a trade from kflah41.. thank you so much man!

Appearance - Pours a every-so-slightly fulvous orange colored body with a thick, frothy, cloudy white head that reduces very slowly and leaves thick lacing. Very nice.

Smell - Sweet and resinous, lots of pine and caramel with hints of tropical fruits and citrus. Caramel, biscuity.

Taste - Upfront, subtle pine and caramel malt, followed by citrus peel and a watery sweet malt flavor. The finish has a resinous hop bite that lingers for a while.

Mouthfeel - Medium-light body, a little light for an IPA.

Overall, a so-so IPA in my opinion. This may have been the pinnacle of IPAs in it's day, but there are far better offerings that outshine it in a heartbeat.

Acquired from smanrob in a trade. A great trader!

Appearnce - It looks like an IPA should, a light copper color with a white head. Lacing was noted around the glass.

Smell - Pine was noted as the dominant part of the aroma. It was not a dominant aroma, but it left a mark.

Taste - I read in a thread that Blind Pig and Pliny are like licking a pine cone. So I will get that impression to the front and suggest pine is the dominant initial taste. It is not overly bitter. Orange rind and the sourness of grapefruit are also very present. Toward the back, the taste fades quite a bit. That is my greatest disappointed.

Mouthfeel - Lightly carbonated and fairly smooth, this one goes down easy.

Overall - This is not my favorite style but I can certainly appreciate a well crafted beer.
