Had on tap at the Falling Rock Tap House in Colorado.
A - Very clear, clean looking beer. It has sort of a heavenly glow to it. Plenty of beautiful white head - I am at about 73 percent looking at this beer. Leaves rings of lacing.
S - Piney...Batman style (zing zang boom pow crash)... fresh, sexy hops. Lemon, apricot, really wakes you up and clears your nose up.
T - Bing Bang Bong Boom... The hops have a party on my taste buds. Very hoppy with a balanced bitterness. If I hadn't had the Pliny and Heady Topper, this would be my favorite IPA. Nice finish and really sticks with you. Very well done.
M - Just the right amount of bitterness, fruity sweetness, and hops. Feels so smooth and balanced on the palate.
D - So great to have this bad boy on tap. What a great bar.

Bottled on date 11/07/11. Poured into a Stone Imperial glass. Bright golden orange color. Very few medium sized carbonation bubbles lead to a very large, three finger head that is bright white in color and very rocky and creamy in appearance. Lace is sticky at this point and looks like it wants to stay awhile.
Smell is bright citrus and sugar. Orange, tangerine, pink grapefruit and pineapple. There are some bread or yeast smells but not at all overpowering. I also get just a bit of pine resin.
Taste is much like the smell. The sweet citrus of an overripe orange is there as well as the pineapple and pink grapefruit. The earthiness is much more prevalent on the tongue. The malt bill wins over the hops, in a West Coast kind of way. Don't get me wrong, this isn't Hop Wallop. The choice of hops and yeast is still West but not over the top and tongue blasting.
Mouth is crisp and smooth, the carbonation is round and almost spritzy. Body is balanced and the finish is average and a bit on the dry side.
Overall I really did and always have enjoyed this. My pallet has change so much over the years. The first time I had this I had is side by side with Pliny and liked this much more than Pliny. How times have changed. I have had a Pliny this week and (as of now) it blows this away. Regardless of my review or comparison to Pliny, this is a must try. Thanks to Tucson25 for this extra.

A- Pours a translucent gold with a two finger head that slowly dissipates into a thick cap leaving nice sheets of lacing. Another good looking RR IPA.
S- Citrus and tropical notes with lemon, grapefruit, orange zest, mango and pineapple. Bready malt follows after with a hint of pine and grass.
T- More bready malt in the taste with a nice amount of grapefruit, orange zest and lemon. Tropical notes are present, but not nearly as noticeable.
M- Medium carbonation and a light to medium body. Finishes dry and a bit bitter.
O- I enjoyed this, but this a little too malt forward. A easy drinking IPA, but a little too expensive for what it is IMO.
