Thanks a lot to whitefire (acquired in a beer trade). Dying to try this. Bottled, 01/31/12.

Nice golden amber hue. Bright off-white head of two fingers. Great stick and density.

Pineapple, tangerine, pine, and grassy hops with a sweet hop oil undertone. Crackery malts. Wonderfully clean aroma, that is the key. Nice tropical fruit character.

Incredibly clean palate with a burly bitterness level. Nice citrusy hop bite with some tangy tropical fruit flavors and insane crispness from the malt bill. The finish is amazing. Lingering bitterness, dry, and supple fruitiness.

Top of the line. Great drinkability. Great brushy carbonation. Medium body with supreme smoothness.

This was a serious treat. Wish this was available out my way. Such a supreme drink.

Picked this up on Sunday while enjoying the Younger. Poured into a small Allagash tulip.

A: Crystal clear golden straw, with a beautiful, quickly receding cream colored head. There is delicate lace left at the edge of the glass and very fine wisps floating at the center.

N: Hop dominated, the usual suspects are evident in the nose: piney citrus and grass.

T/M: This is a very hop forward IPA. The citric piney bitterness coats the tongue, finishing cleanly. The sweet malt flavors really subside in the background, coming in very subtly to aid in the quick disbursement of bitterness. The carbonation is actually quite decent right now, despite the fact that it was poured two days ago.

This is an excellent IPA; crisp and clean, it really exemplifies the standard IPA, which in this world of Imperials and Doubles, is oft overlooked and under appreciated.

A: Pours a light golden yellow with an ample fluffy white head with good retention
S: Tropical fruits, some pine, a little resinous and slightly sweet
T: Soft and gentle flavors of citrus and pine with a solid malt backbone. Aftertaste is oily with some sweetness and a bit of citrus
M: Perfect mouthfeel. The beer is smooth and creamy without being overly thick
O: A very good beer Date on the bottle is 31 Jan so pretty fresh and purchased from the source

Imbibed on 2/6/2012. Bottled on 1/6/2012.

Pours a clear gold straw with visibly active carbonation. One finger head settles to a thin layer. The nose is mostly bready with some tart American yeast and a good amount of piney hops. Some floral notes in the hops, but it's mostly pine. Well balanced in the nose, unheard of in West Coast IPAs! Honey biscuit, pale malt up front, turns very tart and quickly bitter. Grassy, piney hops on the tongue. Thin mouthfeel and flavor profile. Dry finish, and a bit chalky.

This is much more thin in feel and flavor than I expected, and ultimately that's what holds it back from being great. It's easily quaffable, dangerously so. I think I'm ultimately disappointed that the complexity in the aroma is not matched in the flavor. This is just a simple beer with lots of hops in it, but it's crafted well and has its own corner in the IPA world.
