Big fluffy white head. Slightly hazy, translucent brew: gold and orange straw that easily lets through light sources, shifting its appearance constantly. Lively and bubbly. Excellent head retention and excellent lacing.

Big grapefruit and pine notes, with a hint of dank cat musk, tropical fruit, and lemon. Malt presence is tricky to pick out behind all the up-front hops, but it's mostly pale biscuit and floral/honey in the background.

Flavor is less bitter and brightly hoppy than the aroma indicates; much more mellow. Pine and pale malts up front, with a huge dose of Mosaic fruit and dankness on the back end. Crisp and clean.

Bright, light-bodied (but plenty of flavor), semi-dry finish with long-lasting hops on the palate. Very drinkable.

This is a solid IPA. I don't feel it lives up to its big cousin, PtE, at all - but then, it's lighter and lower ABV, so it occupies a different beer niche. It's closer to the hoppy APAs so many companies are putting out now. Enjoy this with lunch or on a warm day.

Bottle poured into an IPA glass. Bottled on 2/24, consumed on 4/3

A - Clear golden straw color with fairly active carbonation. Big 2 finger head. Very pretty beer.

S - I'm getting a lot of sweet dankness. Maybe hints of orange and tropical fruits. I'm thinking there is some malty sweetness mixed in there.

T - I can't really say what I'm getting here. It's unique but not really in a good way. Bready malt? There is a decent hop presence but I can't put my finger on the flavor profile. I'm at a loss and I'm not sure which direction they are trying to go.

M - Prickly carbonation with a very mild bitterness. It lingers for a bit on the tongue.

O - Color me unimpressed. It's quite unique in the flavor profile. Malt somewhat dominates the palate. Maybe it's the age, maybe my palate is screwed up tonight, maybe I am just not a huge fan.
