Bottle very generously provided through trade by Jwelsch. This was Batch 003. I was given a bottle prior to obtaining this one by my good buddy jgap, through a stellar trade. I can't wait to try the batch that Justin sent to me, but I'd stuck between aging it and wanting to open it every time I see it in my cellar/closet.
Pours a beautiful glowing yellow with orange tones. White foamy head that fades fast, but leaves some yeast sediment on top
I swear my nose catches a ton of scents flourishing out of the glass without holding it up to my nose. White grape, orange, more pronounced cherry, tart lemon, a lot of brett funkiness that combines very nicely with the oak aging that this beer endured.
On the palate, a little on the sweeter side but still incredibly tart. Huge lemon and white grapes, with boat loads of dry grapes and other tannins, and some really sour cherry accent flavors. I can see where the oak aging comes into play but its not as pronounced. Orange is present mid-sip. The beer is a little a thinner then similar beers but that's not say this is a negative aspect.
