Thanks to eyebereej for this in a trade! Reviewed from notes. Poured from 375mL bottle into Peg's tulip glass.
A: Pours a deep red amber, is somewhat translucent. Not much in the way of visible carbonation.
S: Aroma is a bit like wine; fruity & dark. Sourness very evident in the nose.
T: Taste sweet and yet dry, with flavors of cherry, merlot, apple hints over the woody flavor. The fruity flavors are present, but it is not a sweet beer overall. I'm not sure of the words to use. Dry dry finish.
M: Nice mouthfeel - smooth, a little lighter mouthfeel than expected. It does result in some puckering sensation, to be sure. Alcohol presence less in the taste, more in the warming sensation down my esophagus.
O: Definitely a good sour beer, though not my favorite RR sour so far. I considered changing my description of the flavor - I'm assuming that I tasted Cabernet, not merlot. But I decided to leave my initial impression intact and expose my wine ignorance.
