Poured into a snifter. Thanks to a very generous co-worker for bringing this back for me...

A: Pours a very dark brown with a decidedly blood red tinge. A nice quarter finger crisp white head provides a startling and pleasing contrast with crimson tones below. Decent lacing and fantastic head retention. I really like what I'm seeing here.

S: Mmmm, funk, some ripe, dark fruit, tart cherry, and fermented grapes. The oak aging is apparent here, but instead of overwhelming the nose, it provides a nice backbone for all the other notes. Tart and funky.

T: Funk and oak wood chips. Sweet dark fruit and some tart cherry notes. A very dry finish with a bit of alcohol burn, but I'm digging it. Not as tart a wild ale as some, but definitely gives you a bit of a pucker. The oak char keeps everything in check. Almost wine-like. Very good.

M: Oak might be just a bit too prominent here. Covers up the tart fruit and funk on the finish. But it's a minor nit. The complex flavors are well integrated and, for the most part, well-balanced. Very enjoyable.

O: Wild ales are a relatively new style for me, but this is one of the best I've had. The wine barrel aging is readily apparent here, and it really makes this one memorable. Definitely an after dinner sipper, like dessert in a glass. If there were one nit, I would have preferred a slightly more tart finish with a little less oak presence. But it's a minor nit. Consecration is the real deal. Can't wait to try more RR sours.

Big thanks to Perth belbianbeer for this one.

A - Pours a redish brown colour with a thin white head that dies quick.

S - Plenty of funk and some dark fruits.

T - Very tart up front, with plenty of barnyard funk. A little dark fruit on the finish, with some green grape.

M - The body is medium and the carbonation is low. Mid palate is very dry.

O - Very enjoyable American wild ale.

Poured into a tulip glass.  The color is red-brown and clear with little head development.  The carbonation from the refermentation is evident.

The aroma is reminiscent of a cab, but fruitier and with some slight maltiness.

The taste oaky, sour fruit, and wine flavors. Dry.

This ale is quite carbonated, like champagne.  Medium body, but heavy with 10% alcohol.
