Pours a dark amber red with a lot of fizz and little head to speak of. Not much lacing and a lot of apparent (champagne-like) carbonation.
Lots of red fruit (cherry, currant) with big red wine nose. Lactic is big. Tart apples. Sour fruits. blah blah blah. Smells and looks like an fruity oud bruin. My kind of beer. Can't wait.
This is phenomenal. I like this much better than Supplication. Flavors are bold, very complex, and quite tart. The wine flavor is big but not overpowering. Definitely get the red grape on the back end and even some tannin bitterness. Sour cherry and currant again, naturally. I also get a vinegar flavor, but it's subtle. Not exactly red wine vinegar, but almost balsamic. Or is it apple cider? I can't put my finger on it. Absolutely incredible flavor.
Mouthfeel is great. Medium bodied, high champagney carbonation. Tannin on the backend.
This is an amazing sour. I defiantly have a world yet to explore, but this is the sour flavor (at least) I have been looking for. Perhaps it's a more obvious beer than supplication (the only other RR sour I've had), but I appreciate that aspect. I really really enjoy this.
