A: Hazy dark ruby/brown. Approaching crimson. Fizzy head recedes to nothing within seconds. Inviting, and to be expected from an RR sour.

S: Big Cabernet and wine barrel aromas coupled with slightly acidic macerated dark berries explode from the glass. Notes of vanilla, oak, and sweet malt in the background. Absolutely beautiful nose, smells like an more acidic glass of red wine.

T: Big tart hit fist, but not bracingly so. Tannic cab grapes and blackberries. Sweet malt and a dark fruit character (currants?) round out the flavor. Extremely balanced for an AWA and again lots of emphasis on the wine character.

M: Medium bodied and bone dry, with a very tannic finish. Spritzy carbonation.

O: Just slightly behind supplication for me, but still absolutely world class. I love red wine, so am a little biased, but what Vinnie does with his wine barrels in just unreal.

375 ml bottled on 02/11/2014

A: Dark brown, almost crimson. 2 finger head when poured. Thin bit of it remains during the 30 min I spend drinking it. Nice stuff.

S: Tart cherries, dark grapes. Some notes of Cab and oak. I've probably put my stupid nose in this thing 50 times already. Wow.

T: Puckering sour on the front of the tongue, but in no way overbearing. Light malt backbone and those Cab flavors come through. A fantastic, complex sour.

M: Perfect amount of carbonation. Almost impossible to tell this is 10% ABV.

O: Probably the best sour I've had to date. Incredible.
