On tap at Russian River. Poured into a RR Belgian glass. Comes in at 8% and 48 IBUs.

A-Pours a hazy golden oak color. Has a one finger white head that is full of bubble pockets. Lots of lace is left in the glass.

S-Pick up on some minor funk and lots of fruit such as rum soaked stone fruit, lemon zest, and green apple. As it warms the the booze begins to appear.

T-Quite mixed on this one. I enjoyed the first third of every sip, but the remaining two-thirds had some problems. Fruit is definitely noticeable. It has a sweet lemon flavor throughout. The green apple is very apparent, although the rum soaked stone fruit from the nose is less pronounced. A taste resembling band aids appears mid-sip and on the finish. The booze is also apparent after it has gone down. There is some decent bitterness and some residual sweetness in between sips.

M-Medium bodied with a nice level of carbonation.

D-The band-aid flavor along with the booze in the back just was not my thing.

Considering how many great beers RR produces, it is only inevitable that they are bound to make one not to my liking. I'll blame it on the publicans. I would pass on this and go directly to Temptation next time.

Had it on tap at RRB yesterday. The publicans did a really good job with this saison. I hope they get together and brew some more specialty ales for their breweries only. I let my brother know to go stop by the Monks Cafe in Philly and try some there.

RBSG09 on tap at the brewpub. Pours an opaque goldenrod color with a thick white frothy head. Lemony aroma with white pepper, citrus zest, and banana pith. Candied citrus peel flavor with pepper and coriander spiciness. A decent dose of herbal hops delivers a nice bitterness in the finish. Perfect amounts of tartness, spice, and hops. Another mind-blowingly well-balanced beer from RR.

On tap at the brewpub. Just went on yesterday.

Pours a pale hazy yellow with a medium-sized hard white head. Insane thick fluffy lacing. Beautiful.

Smells like barnyard brett (not sure if this is actually used) and abundant citrus. Lemon zest.

Taste follows suit. Really nice bretty, orange, lemony, lightly spicy saison. Very tasty and quite refreshing. Not too sweet, and little to no detectable alcohol. Not overly complex, but everything is well balanced.

Light-medium bodied and somewhat creamy with a clean crisp finish makes this insanely easy-drinking. I was enjoying every sip of this and it really hit the spot.

Another fine beer from Russian River.
