Growler courtesy of Beerdy-- thanks brother!
Poured in my imperial nonic pint.
Very clear and bright looking golden body with a big 3 finger head of sticky slightly off-white foam. Tons of lacing form huge curtains around the glass and the head retention is spectacular.
I always feel obliged to mention this anytime I review a particularly good (or bad) American Pale Ale: This is handsdown my favorite style.... With that said, I feel comfortable proclaiming that this beer is outright delicious.
Some bready toast malt notes are overwhelmed by huge notes of tropical citrus hops with a piney/resin bite. Good strong bitterness lingers firm on a nice dry finish. Very good.
The body is medium-full with much oily quality to it. Decent carbonation.
Overall-- I continue to be impressed by the hoppy beers coming out of Russian River... Maybe someday I'll be able to make the Younger release (or maybe Vinnie would allow some one a growler fill if I begged him hard enough!)

Review from notes
Growler filled up a few hours ago to a pint glass
Pours a vibrant golden orange with a finger of head. Low carbonation, good retention and okay lacing
Smells like....simcoe. Very catty pine followed up with a light citrus. A very submissive caramel malt works to back everything up
Taste is nearly identical to the smell. Lots of pine and kitty litter on the tongue, followed again by some citrus and tropical notes. Again, caramel backbone holding everything together
Feel is a light / medium body with moderate bitterness, low carbonation. Alcohol is hidden, it's easy to drink
Overall it's no Pliny but good none the less. Single hop beers are great for getting to know the hops, but I'm always reminded drinking them how boring they become without others to mix up the flavor

On-tap at 38 Degrees, on to the beer:
This pale ale is a light orange color, moderate sized head on top, and solid lacing around. The aroma brings clean, piney, and vague fruitiness to the nose. It's a pale ale which leans towards the hoppy side, not just in aroma but in taste as well. Rather clean and fruity with a pleasant hoppiness that doesn't go into bold IPA territory, and adding a light honey malt base further enhances this ale.
This is one pleasing pale ale which is good for everyday drinking. Be on the lookout for this one.
