Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale started out as six individual brews, each with their own personality, and all incorporating Brettanomyces and or micro-organisms. Once the barrel aging was complete, Russian River’s Vinnie Cilurzo and Toronado’s David Keene got together to create the final blend. To create its fine carbonation, we re fermented the Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale in this bottle. Spent yeast cells from a thin layer of sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Pour slowly, allowing the natural yeast sediment to remain in the bottle.

Blend:
4% Sonambic (barrel aged for 15 months)
16% Blonde Ale (barrel aged for 8 months)
36% Strong Pale Ale (barrel aged 12 months)
28% Ale Aged with Currants (barrel aged for 8 months)
12% Strong Dark Ale (barrel aged for 12 months)
4% Baltic Porter (barrel aged for 10 months)

This was absolutely fantastic.

Pours a ruddy reddish hue with nice foaming.

I enjoyed the challenge of figured out the aroma. I got a lot of immediate sour, tartness, with dark ruby red grapefruit and some cherry essence. Mouthpuckering flavor—intensely so—with some sour tart cherry essence and some oaky tannins.

Wonderfully rounded flavor. I get some dried stone fruits—raspberries, blackberries, a touch of honey and a hint of vanilla. This warms wonderfully. In fact, it just becomes amazing as it warms, with a rounded sweetness that emerges. Great effervescence and surprisingly sweet on the finish.

Incredible. Can I have another?

Had this several times at the bar and got a few bottles to age.

A: Deep Rusty Red in color, Good clarity. Maintains a pretty decent head depending on the pour, we saw some really nice heads and some not so good ones. Lacing was as expected not as sticky as Pliny but still appealing.

S: Not as sour or pungent as I was expecting and marking the only thing in this beer that I feel could be improved upon. Subtle citrus, spicy, some Bretts and other Belgian yeast notes.

T: WOW. So complex. Really cool to drink a few glasses over an hour or two and pick out the brews that make up this amazing beer. Consecration being right up front but you get hint of Beatification as well as oaky damnation. So many flavors, combined so well. This beer is worth pursuing and worth aging, i can't wait to see how the flavor develops! Dunno this doesn't have a better review so far but I think over time it will climb.

M: Amazing, light on the alcohol well hidden, Carbonated perfectly.

O: Vinne has done it again, another World class beer that knocks your socks off!!!!

This beer reminds me of Consecration at its finest moment. There is a bit more brightness and effervescence as well as a more rounded sweetness to balance the vinegary tartness. The fruit shines bright with a deep dark unripened cherry flavor. There is a richness that this blend provides while still being quenching. The blend is so well balanced that I really have little to add other than being fortunate enough to try this beer.

A: poured a copperish brown in color with golden yellow highlights and a half finger of head with good retention which left a little bubbly lacing sticking to the glass.

S: definitely was able to detect a variety of berries such as strawberries, cherries, blueberries, and cranberries with good oakiness, some wine barrel vinous character, acidic notes, a little brett funk, citrus and a little orange rind.

T: lots going on in the taste but like the nose suggest, I was able to get lots of berry character mostly cherries and strawberries, good acidic citrus coming through, nice oaky accents, a hint of vanilla, vinous wine barrel character, great inviting brett funkiness with a touch of horse blanket and mild mango fruit; whoa.

M: the brew was medium in body with a fair amount of bubbly carbonation which had a fruity, oaky, vinous, acidic, sour and slightly dry finish.

O: very glad my boy beezler opened this sucker up. This one definitely lives up to the hype IMO. Solid american wild all around with an exceptional taste. Mmmm.. I want more, someone hook me up. Ha!!
