Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale started out as six individual brews, each with their own personality, and all incorporating Brettanomyces and or micro-organisms. Once the barrel aging was complete, Russian River’s Vinnie Cilurzo and Toronado’s David Keene got together to create the final blend. To create its fine carbonation, we re fermented the Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale in this bottle. Spent yeast cells from a thin layer of sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Pour slowly, allowing the natural yeast sediment to remain in the bottle.

Blend:
4% Sonambic (barrel aged for 15 months)
16% Blonde Ale (barrel aged for 8 months)
36% Strong Pale Ale (barrel aged 12 months)
28% Ale Aged with Currants (barrel aged for 8 months)
12% Strong Dark Ale (barrel aged for 12 months)
4% Baltic Porter (barrel aged for 10 months)

750ml bottle. Thanks Craig! Poured into a mini-snifter 8/9/2014.

A- Dark ruby-copper body, with a half finger white head with fair retention. Nothing special looking... but luckily that's the least of it. [3.75]

S- Goodness gracious, this is what Consecration smells like, but even better. Tart currants, cherries, dark fruits, raisins with a lovely lactic tartness, red vinous character and some oak. One of the most complex American wild ales I've ever smelled. [4.75]

F- Similar to the nose; lots of dark fruits, cherries, currants, lacto and vinegar along with a nice oak and grape must. I'm not surprised Vinnie and Toronado would come up with something like this. Excellent. [4.5]

M- Medium in body, smooth and rich yet with a nice peppy carbonation. Excellent stuff. Finish is currants and cherries galore. [4.25]

O- Fantastic stuff. I'm amazed I got to try this one; I would never have otherwise. Again, this is a work of art by Vinnie and co; comes highly recommended. [4.5]

This beer reminds me of Consecration at its finest moment. There is a bit more brightness and effervescence as well as a more rounded sweetness to balance the vinegary tartness. The fruit shines bright with a deep dark unripened cherry flavor. There is a richness that this blend provides while still being quenching. The blend is so well balanced that I really have little to add other than being fortunate enough to try this beer.

750 ml bottle into a teku.

dark ruby red color with a great foamy head. smell of currants , cherries. taste starts out with a big amount tartness...cherry flavor is prominent right after and the finish is very wet and has a lingering fruity taste that coats your mouth. quite complex and you can tell its a blend. body is medium and carbonation is medium as well.

overall blows consecration out of the water, which is what its reminiscent of. excellent.
