Bottled on 5/30/2013 and poured into goblet.
A-Bright Golden body with a head that quickly fell back into the beer and went missing. No lacing/retention. Clarity would be great for this beer but there is sediment floating throughout my glass. That was probably my fault due to my anticipation of wanting to try this for so long that I poured it a little to rough.
S-Vanilla, oak and a huge punch of freshly squeezed grapefruit mix together for a aroma that is different but intriguing and beautiful at the same time. The grapefruit is the from the sourness and also get some nice funky/musty notes with subtle peach aromas.
T-This is a sour beer and I love it. Mouth puckering goodness once you take it all in. Starts off as a simple belgian-esque beer and than you hit the middle and back palate and it shows you that it is a sour. Sourness turns into funky barnyard back into sourness with hints of that vanilla/oak from the barrels.
M-Medium-thin body, high carbonation and a super dry finish.
O-Enjoyable beer. Have had this cellaring for a couple months now and decided to take it out. Wish I had another one or two of these in my "cellar" so I could age them and see how they progress and change overtime. Lovely sour beer and cannot wait to have this one again. High price where I got it($20 for the 375mL) but happy with the purchase!
