The beer is the obvious draw. What pleased me was how incredible the 'lesser known' selections were. The English IPA, the two pilsners, the wit, the biere de garde, dry Irish stout, etc; these were all phenomenal examples of their respective styles. The vibe is crowded and noisy, not the most pleasant place to drink. The food is pretty lowest common denominator pizzas. Due to the crowds, service can be spotty.

Was here last summer, sat at the bar. The bartender was a flat out jerk to my wife and me. Of course the beer is fantastic, wish the service matched

What is there to say besides the fact that everything that needs to be said has already been said about this Brewpub!

The beers are World Class and the atmosphere is phenomenal! A must stop for a beer lover!

Usually a very long wait. Go during the day on a weekday if you don't want to wait in line. Food is pretty good, Pliny Bites every time forsure. Always a great selection of sours, IPAs and Belgians.

They have a separate line and bar inside for growler fills and bottle purchases which is nice.

Only fill their branded growlers :(

Visited RR in August 2015. We got there right when it opened so we grabbed a seat at the bar. The next thing you know the place was packed...on a weekday! The bar staff are extremely knowledgeable about their products and were more than willing to answer questions and direct drinkers to something they like. The pizza was greasy, but it cut the hops of the IPAs. Try the whole wall flight for a great tasting experience!

RRB was a nice, iconic place to visit. However, I was rather put off by the decor and by the bathrooms. I have no sympathy for a reputable establishment that has dirty and or poorly designed bathrooms; come on guys, try harder. Secondly, I don't understand their decor. Are they going for German taproom? What's with the red velvet drapes and dusty bottles? It is what it is I guess, but if I was a local I would not make this my regular hangout.

Famous for the name, but their beer world class across 15+ different styles. Best to go early (11am-12pm) or later afternoon (3-5pm) depending on the weekend.

Currently my favorite brewery so I might not be as objective as some. Easy drive up from the Bay Area. Nice, clean, modern facility that seemed pretty family-friendly. Lovely selection of all their styles on tap ...including Pliny & Consecration. Service was fast & friendly. Didn't eat but the food looked/smelled good. Well worth the trip if you're a fan of their beer (and how could you not be?!). I could easily spend a few days in the area & go there nightly.

Probably stating the obvious but if you want to take home some Pliny & you're only there for the day, the earlier the better. I sat on the patio on a nice summer day & watched case upon case go out the door thinking ...oh, they have plenty ...only to find they were out of bottles when I went to cash out. Happy ending ...still got a growler of it.

I went there for the first time this past summer for my birthday. It was epic. I got the sampler which was HUGE. Then we ordered some pizza and some kind of bread with cheese but I don't remember exactly because I drank a whole sampler. When the bartenders found out it was my birthday they gave me a free beer and some other people sitting there bought me some drinks as well. Great place!

This place was pretty cool. Stopped in on a Tuesday night about 8:30 and the place was pretty busy. I grabbed a pint and stood by the bar until a few people got up. Obviously the beer was great, but I was surprised at how cool the people were. Not a hint of arrogance.

"accidentally" arrived on a Thursday PM during Pliny the Younger. Wait was about 30 minutes and consider myself grateful. Had their sampling platter of beers. Food is great, had their pizza. Place was pretty damn crowded if you ask me tho.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, not too busy (30 min wait to get in). Got a bar seat, obviously great beer selection. Just opted for a couple tasters (ipa/sours). Pliny bites and pizza were great. Not a huge fan of the staff who ranged from inattentive at best to just rude. I get it, its busy, but like the active disdain for the customers was a little off putting. Overall fun stop, well worth it for the beer!

-Worth the wait in the line. A person would have to be a prick to complain.
-That being said, it will be busy. The servers are doing a hell of a job, but that doesn't mean your beers/food will immediately pop onto your table.
-^Service is exceptional, especially for how hectic it is. I can almost guarantee they were over capacity, every single seat was taken, aisles were crowded, and servers were still floating through the crowd and happily attentive, and bartenders almost looked relaxed. I was impressed.
-Vibe is energetic. Lots of beer paraphernalia all over the walls, with plenty of homage to classic macros. Décor, if you can call it that, is casual. A few outdoor tables are available, too. Decent view of the brewing room.
-This place could offer only their own beers and I would still rate the selection highly, because why would one even look for something else? Still, they do offer some wines and bottles from other breweries.
-The selection of food, however, is limited to basics. Mostly pizza and pizza offshoots, like cheesy bread. Still, for what it is it's very good. Also good to have high grease/protein options, because if you're like me you will need lots of alcohol-soaking food to offset the ridiculous amount of beer you will drink.
-The beer. Incredible. Duh. I was downright flabbergasted at how reasonable the prices were, too. No price gouging here (you can tell ABInBev hasn't bagged them yet). Incomparable value. Where else can you get literally a half dozen+ world-class beers in one location for the price of what most bars charge for shelf beer?

This could be a dirt hole with RR taps installed and it would still beat other breweries by a landslide. The beer is world class, and they are doing a damn fine job with trying to keep up with the demand for it. (Points lost for being so far away from me).

I've heard rumors of this place having a wait of 3 hours or more so I was very happy to immediately get a table when I walked in. I had just been doing some wine tasting in Sonoma and decided since we were in the neighborhood to drop and and get some PTE on tap. Service was quick the beer was delicious and the bar had a very nice crowd. It wasn't busy but it also wasn't empty.

Awesome selection of beers and really a great deal as every beer is $4.75 or $4 except for the sours which are $6-7. We got the full tasting board which comes with 19 beer samples. Pizza was excellent as well.

This is just an incredible place to get a beer and a pizza. Both their food and their beer is just world class. Grab a sour, or a Pliny and eat some pizza and enjoy. Be prepared to wait for a table though. This place is always busy.

You all know the beer, so no point mentioning the obvious. Yes, they have beer, yes its really good. But the food is pretty fantastic too. For a brew-pub I was very impressed with the quality of their house pizza. Selection of beers is unsurpassed. Get the sampler and you'll be well on your way. You can even get 6packs to take home. WOOHOO!

Visited on a Friday afternoon and we had to wait 45 minutes to get a table. I had a flight of their Belgian beer, all were world class. We ordered a pizza and some hot wings. Pizza was really good but the wings were burnt and wings did not come to our table for about an hour after placing our order, the pizza was there within 30 minutes. Our waiter seemed a little aloof and slightly unresponsive to our concerns but all other employees were really helpful. A vibrant atmosphere, lots of people, and we are planning on making another trip next year. Took home some beers that do not get distribution in my area.

My one recommendation is be patient but the quality of beer and food is worth the time.

Pliny, pliny bites and ability to sample every beer...simply can't beat it. Biggest downside is the wait to get in and the wait for a table once through the first line. Af ter all the waiting the beer is definitely worth it. I recommend getting the sampler first and then getting a full size of your favorite

We saw a lot of breweries on the way here. We saw a lot on the way back home. But this was our primary destination - the raison d'être for burning fossil fuels to see the place with our own eyes. And it was worth it. We were turned away at the door at 5pm after a quick jaunt from our AirBnB, but put on a list. They texted us about an hour later (exactly what the host estimated) and we were seated at a table next to the kitchen. We swiftly put in an order of pizza and the massive sampler set, and while we waited I secured a crate of Pliny up at the gift shop for beer trading at a later date. Our waiter was incredibly composed, even as the rush of human beings coming through the space made me think of Tokyo train stations at rush hour. That impressed upon me, and my girlfriend, who's been in the service industry for awhile. The ambiance is warm and obviously beer-centered, with a huge blackboard up on the wall showing off the massive menu of Russian River brews available for consumption. I don't recall seeing any guest beers. Just Russian River 4 Days. I don't need to say how good the beer is, but it's a long slog through the sampler marathon, and they'll let you sit around, unmolested, taking notes, and bantering over the life changing sours and IPAs. The walk away from the brewery came with that feeling one gets on Sunday morning as a student, where one is still in the weekend, but you feel the fun fading, and the dread of Monday approaching. Russian River left quite the impression, and It'll occupy a large part of the memories I'll take away from this miniature road trip.

A must visit for me while in San Fran area. Went on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend getting there at least 15 min before open to get a seat. Families were there (some sitting at the bar), also lots of 20-30 something's. FYI - family-friendly doesn't mean they don't allow people to swear or have adult conversations. It's also pretty loud when it gets packed, which happened by 11:30. Food took awhile to be made/served but service was friendly. The environment is very cool with vintage beer fixtures and signs.

Bar service and selection were great, best part of the visit. Bottles and growlers were also very easy. Had pizzas and they were very tasty - lots of options for ingredients. Varmint wasn't bad - $2 for 2 hrs street or lot parking. The back side parking is recommended. Had a great time.

Amazing beer, pretty cool place, and a friendly atmosphere. I would be heaven if you didn't have to wait 45 minutes to get a place to sit down. Overall...hell, it is is RR. You have to go.

My wife and I visited on our honeymoon in February for a quick lunch. This quick lunch turned in to 4 hours sitting at the bar, a full paddle of every beer offered followed by a few pints, and ordering food 3x. Such a great experience, we are already looking forward to our return trip to California and will plan to spend a full day at Russian River next time.
