Stopped in while doings Napa Valley visit with the wife. Older looking place in downtown Santa Rosa, could use some sprucing up on the outside. Inside was neat, we sat at a table rather than the bar. For the full menu sampler, so 17 beers today, only 3 of which I had before. Was excited to finally try Consecration and Supplication, but was hoping to see Temptation which wasn’t around. Beers were good and I got some bottles of Pliny, Blond Pig, Consecration, and Supication to take home. They also had their imperial porter bottles for sale but didn’t get any. Good was decent, wife had a salad and I had some beer bites. Prices were reasonable at $16 for 17 2oz samplers. Overall I was slightly dissapointed but it was great to visit. Really, how many variations of a golden ale and an IPA can they have on the menu at once? Otherwise obviously worth stopping in given its reputation.

I have been here on a couple of occasions. Mind you that on the second venture it was during SF Beer Week and everyone was thirsty for a taste of PtY. But I mention this because regardless of the chaos of hundreds of people and waiting in line for 5+ hours, RRBC certainly cared about the details. Knowing that people would wait, they provided portapotties, tents for when it rained, Vinnie and Natalie came out to just talk with the people as well. There is not a sense of snobbery or gimmicky "car salesman" act; seemed very genuine. On that one account alone, I would give them a perfect score. But above all else, they have great sours (my favorite). The service was quick even during the PtY stampede. Their Pliny Bites are very good and spicy, which of course, pairs nicely with the PtE. Servers, hostess, crowd, atmosphere, all of the above great.

An under the radar destination in the sleepy town of Santa Rosa. We walked in at about 5 on a Sunday afternoon and pulled up a couple of stools at the roomy bar...
Well, yeah, so that never happened.
Little can be said about this place that has not already been said many times in these reviews. Though the place is apparently packed at all times, the efforts to score a table or a bar stool are well worth it (we got both after a bit of patience on two visits).
The tap list is out of this world, not only for its consistent high quality but for its mastery of all styles it serves. You like hops? Cool. Sours? Some of the best ever. Other Belgian styles? Yeah, they've got 'em. Start with the sampler (and a friend to share it with) and go from there with your favorites.
The pizza is surprisingly good. The service is really pleasant and non-douchey, which is a lesson many other successful places could learn.
Go there. But you knew that already, right?

Visited during Pliny the Younger Release. The event was done efficiently and once in the brew pub the service was great (considering the place was packed). The atmosphere was what I would expect in a small local brew pub. The beer selection was awesome. I was really impressed with their 20 beer sampler (everything on tap). Definitely a place I will return to.

Stopped in here earlier today for the PTY release, I have wanted to visit this place for so long, the PTY was just an added bonus. After standing in line for nearly six hours I finally got inside and promptly found a seat at the bar. Atmosphere was hopping, as expected with such a large event going on. Service was solid all things considered, I did have to wait a bit but that is more than understandable with the insane amount of people looking for beers are all times. Quality was great, beers and food were both top notch. Selection was awesome. 20 beers on including PTY, Beatification and a vintage Sanctification. Food was awesome. I decided on the Jasper bites and they were awesome. I really wanted a pizza as well but the bites filled me up so well I just didn't have it in me. Prices were great, especially the sampler on all 20 beers for $16. Overall one of the best brewery tap rooms I have ever visited, I look forward to visiting again in the future, hopefully when PTY isn't going on so I won't have to wait for 6hrs to get in.

I love how this place is tucked away within the quaint downtown of Santa Rosa. Small bar, small kitchen, small dining area all make you get really friendly with those around you. I can imagine that when Younger is on tap that this place is a mad house. I was here on a quiet Saturday afternoon and it was still packed. That tiny kitchen is packing out some great food that the bartenders will pair with an amazing brew. Food is a tad pricey, but the beers are dirt cheap for the outstanding beer they produce. Bartenders were very happy that I brought some Florida stuff to share with them. One even pedalled home to grab a Beatification to share. Friendly and open atmosphere. I would love to live somewhere besides a 4 hour plane ride from this place!

As a local, I feel lucky to have this brewery in my town. I've been going here for a number of years and the beer, food, and servers are all top notch. My biggest complaint is that RRB's success has made them very popular and they are almost always busy. I've experienced times when I've had to wait more than 30 minutes to get someone's attention to get a growler filled up. I've had Pliney the Younger three of the past four years. Last year I waited almost 8 hours to get in. I wish they allocated tickets (either sell, drawing, or charity donation) so that the line was not so crazy.
My favorite beers there are definitely the sours. The Younger is an amazingly crafted beer (very smooth for the alcohol content) but the sours are much more flavorful and interesting.
Thank you RRB for opening my eyes to great beer and continuing to stay true to your roots!

Both times I've been were during weekends.
The first time, we waited the two hours for dining while enjoying draft beers, then bought bottles of Pliny on the way out.
The second time, we bought the bottles during our wait, which was good fortune, because they ran out of the day's Pliny bottles shortly after we were seated (around 3pm on a Saturday). Wait time to be seated was a little under an hour
The wait time was expected, and the enclosed patio area is pleasant to relax on with a draft in the mild Santa Rosa weather.
The bar is always crowded on weekends, but the tenders will notice you if you are patient.
The menu is large for a brewery, and the pizzas are actually very good. The seating area is small and intimate, and makes for great service.

Went on a Sunday, which was a mistake. Was told it would be 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. Went back next day in early afternoon and only waited 15 min. Staff was friendly, service was kinda slow. Beer selection outstanding. Food was average at best, nothing special. Went there for the beer, was not disappointed in that.

We stopped here on our honeymoon in late april 2013. It has been my dream to go here since I turned 21. Russian RIver is my favorite brewing Company in the US. The brewpub experience lived up to my expectation.
A- A typical "brewpub" atmosphere. Set in a small to medium sized town with street parking. It has a long bar and two dining rooms. I've been in a lot of brewpubs that look pretty much exactly like this. It wasn't pliny the younger day or anything so it wasn't crazy.
Quality and selection- Perfect, in my eyes-but its Russian river. They can't go wrong! We had a sampler of all 20 beers they had on tap. I believe the Belgians/sours were redemption, supplication, temptation, consecration, and perdition. I wish they had my favorite of all time-beatification-but not so much luck. The only catch is there was only one dark beer- their porter.
Service- Fantastic. Had an hour conversation with the manager about how this is my absolute favorite brewery and how all their beers are amazing. Also had a long conversation about how it costs $25 a bottle for a 750ml in Philly of their stuff but its super reasonable at the brewpub and in California in general. He hooked us up with some samples and contact information but I of course misplaced it!
Food- Awesome bar food and pizzas. A lot of brewpubs try to get fancy with their menus- but this place is a great place for homemade pizza, wings and sandwhiches. The wings are baked and fantastic.
Overall- This place lived up to its reputation and my dream. I'd love to go back. This and seeing the redwoods were the highlight of my honeymoon-so its a possibility-but probably not anytime soon!
