Flew in from Chicago for the release (sadly I am back in IL now). Met up with Abel and some others for some PtY. We went on a Monday this year, and arrived about an hour early. We were the first 10 or so there and were the first in the door when they opened. No need to go into any other details that my prior review already does...but just wanted to say another amazing and enjoyable time. I hope to make a tradition out of this. Cheers!
I drove a total of 1,000 miles this past weekend to go from Southern California up to Santa Rosa for the PtY release. I was fortunate enough to meet many fellow BA's, and had an outstanding time. Now, on to the review.
We arrived a bit later than expected and had to stand in line for over two and a half hours. This was expected and nothing that can be held against Russian River. I did appreciate the lead hostess who did not bend the rules for anyone the entire time, though it may have frustrated people (i.e. letting people sneak in for an open seat). Once you let one person do it, everyone wants to and chaos ensues.
Once we finally were in Russian River, the atmosphere was energized. Everyone was having a good time, enjoying outstanding beers and food. The service was pretty damn good for being as busy as it was, and everyone was cheerful and as accommodating as they could be in a situation as described.
The selection of beers on tap floored me. In Southern California we rarely get any RR sours on tap, and when we do, it is almost always Consecration. I was able to try Temptation, Sanctification, Compunction, and Supplication on tap, in addition to all my heart's desire of Pliny the Younger.
The pizza we had was damn good, and I wish I could have tried more of the many varieties they had.
The price there was so much cheaper than I am used to in LA, so I'm going to say the entire time there was a bargain. I probably dropped about a hundred dollars on beer/food (I overpaid a bit on purpose) but it was well worth the experience, meeting new BA's, and having such delicious beer. I hope to be able to go back there in the future when it is not as insane.

Stopped in while doings Napa Valley visit with the wife. Older looking place in downtown Santa Rosa, could use some sprucing up on the outside. Inside was neat, we sat at a table rather than the bar. For the full menu sampler, so 17 beers today, only 3 of which I had before. Was excited to finally try Consecration and Supplication, but was hoping to see Temptation which wasn’t around. Beers were good and I got some bottles of Pliny, Blond Pig, Consecration, and Supication to take home. They also had their imperial porter bottles for sale but didn’t get any. Good was decent, wife had a salad and I had some beer bites. Prices were reasonable at $16 for 17 2oz samplers. Overall I was slightly dissapointed but it was great to visit. Really, how many variations of a golden ale and an IPA can they have on the menu at once? Otherwise obviously worth stopping in given its reputation.
