Stopped in the night before this year's PtY release, and again on the morning of.

The bar in this place seems to go on forever - it is a massive extended plank of bright well worn polished wood flanked by dozens of stools. A low partition separates the "dining" area (tables and chairs and a small stage for music) from the bar, and there is additional seating out front on the patio and around the corner from the bar.

I was impressed at how well the pub has retained a local feel with patrons of all ages and backgrounds (cab drivers, mechanics, bankers, day-traders, etc) stopping in to share a pint or three.

No guest taps, and that's a good thing as it leaves more room for RR's lesser known offerings. Prices on draft beers are very inexpensive especially during happy hour (e.g. $3 for PtE vs. upwards of $8 for the same in some bars in Los Angeles). On the other hand, they charge more for their bottles than most stores (and don't seem to often have rarities) - so unless you are filling a growler - take a trip to Bottle Barn if you want to stock up.

As you would expect, everything is extremely fresh and you can tell they clean their tap-lines frequently.

Service is fast and unpretentious, but a bit gruff/rushed at times (though still friendly). While perhaps slightly disorganized, they did a good job of keeping their composure during the insanity surrounding the PtY release.

Between Flavor, RR, and Sawyer's News (for Centro's espresso) - this little corner of the world makes for a full evening for beer, coffee, and food geeks alike.
