In the interest of full disclosure, the fabulous bartender from my second home when I lived in Santa Monica is now here. I would drive hours to drink beer here because their beers are stellar. Add in seeing old friends and I won't go to the bay area without stopping by.
Lots of old California beer memorabilia on the walls. Some of the original Micros are represented along with more national memorabilia too. Uh, you can see the barrel room from the bar. All that fabulous wood aged beer just waiting its turn.
You could make a solid argument that Russian River's line of beers is the best in the country. So get to the source. They have their standard brewpub offerings (including Pliny the Elder) on tap at all times (Good stout, nice ESB, Blind Pig IPA) plus a rotating selection of belgian and sour ales. They had a lambic like Pluott ale on during my recent visit.
I've had pizza here and it is good but not necessarily great. One thing I like are the hot wings. You know how some places serve you "hot" wings that aren't hot, just taste a little black peppery. Well the wings here will make your nose run and your scalp sweat. You can get them mild if you're a weenie.
Sweet Jesus I love their beer!!!

Stopped in while doings Napa Valley visit with the wife. Older looking place in downtown Santa Rosa, could use some sprucing up on the outside. Inside was neat, we sat at a table rather than the bar. For the full menu sampler, so 17 beers today, only 3 of which I had before. Was excited to finally try Consecration and Supplication, but was hoping to see Temptation which wasn’t around. Beers were good and I got some bottles of Pliny, Blond Pig, Consecration, and Supication to take home. They also had their imperial porter bottles for sale but didn’t get any. Good was decent, wife had a salad and I had some beer bites. Prices were reasonable at $16 for 17 2oz samplers. Overall I was slightly dissapointed but it was great to visit. Really, how many variations of a golden ale and an IPA can they have on the menu at once? Otherwise obviously worth stopping in given its reputation.
