The seventh and final stop for the first evening of the 2004 Sonoma Co. Beer Run (http://www.stoutguy.com/beer/trips/Sonoma/)
After a few brews at the 3rd Street, D, the erstwhile navigator, and I wandered over to the new home of Vinnie C. We were a bit surprised to arrive at the joint and find it jumping with a band and a lot of other folks. The space screams industrial with thick concrete, posters and giant hop burlap sacks. Parts of the brewery are visible through the windows behind the long bar, including the previously mentioned barrels.
No big surprise after walking around the joint, that the whole space once belonged to a bank. If you get a chance to run into Vinnie, he'll even tell you his office is located in the old bank vault. (With a phone inside, just incase he gets locked in! :) )
The beer is pure Russian River with a fair number of interesting tastes. I was disappointed there was no stout when we arrived, but I quickly got over that concern with a Damnation.
Big disappointment of the evening was the food, policy at the pub seems to be that while the band is playing, only slices of pepporoni or cheese pizza are available for the eating. Just a touch annoying when I hadn't had anything to eat since the mussels at Marin. Oh well..
Loud times at the River when a band plays, but still the place was lively and the beer was good. This now makes two great places in Santa Rosa to catch a fresh brew.

Visited on a Sunday in July (2014).
Quite crowded even at noon and I was lucky to get a seat at the bar after about 10 minutes of standing. Seeme a bit understaffed for the size of the crowd (and the crowd was predictable, I expect, given summertime and a discount on pints on Sundays). A fine range of beers available on tap, as well as some bottles to go. Bottles of Pliny were selling like crazy. Bar reached capacity during my visit and there was a small line when I left. Tasters are available, including a large rack featuring all 18 or 20 of their beers.
