What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said. World class beers, great food and great customer service. I recommend a Blind Pig IPA with a Paisano pizza or Pliny Bites. This place is superb in every which way and form.

We waited in line for over five hours on 2/10/2013 to try Pliny the Younger. Once we got in, the place was packed! We order the PtY and hunkered down in corner and was amazed by this wonderful brew. After 15 minutes we were brought to our tables. We order a sour samples (only $0.75 each) and some wings and a calzone. The bake their wings, so it took about 30 mins before we got them. The food was surprisingly good and wasn't very expensive.

The service was very friendly, from the guy checking ID's, the hostess, bartenders, and servers. The people inside were just as friendly and festive. Great atmosphere

We had a great experience and look forward to doing it again next year!

Made a trip out here when I was back in SF visiting family - just so happens it was during Pliny the Younger's 2 week stay....

Okay, so I got here on the Thursday night after Younger had been released. I wanted to be there around lunch time but ended up there about 5pm - nervous the day's allocation of Younger had been consumed... We get there and there is a line outside the brewpub and down the sidewalk a bit. Luckily not so daunting a line. After about 20-25min of waiting we finally got in...

Atmosphere: Definitely a laid back environment here with a dedicated local scene within this historic district of town. The Jr college is just around the corner. They've got an outside patio with plenty of seating and the inside is a lengthy bar with an easy 20-25 seats - additional tables toward the front. During my visit this place was obviously packed and Pliny the Younger was everywhere. I even saw people downing it like they were shots...

Quality: WORLD CLASS - and by world class I'm not just describing the beer... the pizza is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I had "the Mikey" and after leaving I couldn't stop ranting about the quality of their pizza. If I lived here I'd be there daily.

Service: I managed to get a bar seat within 10min of entering thanks to luck's hand and this helped a bunch. Only 2 guys were working and they had many orders to keep rolling - doing so with haste.

Selection: 20+ of the breweries own beer's written on the massive chalkboard over the bar and a menu of food easily comparable to any Italian restaurant + much more deviations.

Food: As I couldn't help but mention already... PIZZA!!!

Overall: A must visit. Simply put. Great area of California, great area of Santa Rosa. Do yourself a favor and travel there. Just standing in line I met 2 guys who flew down from Seattle to be there for the unveiling. You won't be disappointed!

FYI: Younger is released the first Friday in February every year for approx. 2 weeks. Each days allocation is based on the brewers whim. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Once that days supply is gone, it's gone. Never has it been bottled. They won't fill growlers of it. It's strictly served in the glass, at the brewpub, during it's residency. Also, my 25min wait was extremely lucky. I called that Sunday and the wait was 4 hours long. Hope this information helps your visit!!

Had a great experience visiting RR Brew co. I arrived at the brewery right before they opened at 11am on a Sunday. I was greeted by very friendly staff and a good vibe. They were happy to let me try any beer and even gave me a free pint of concentration! I did end up dropping a hefty load on growlers and reaching the max on bottle purchases :).

This was really my first exeptional brewpub I've been to. To start off, you just walk in and know this place is all about the beer. Everything on the walls, everyone wearing some kind off beer shirt. It was just great!

To start off, I really didn't know what I wanted... generally I'm a stout kind of person but I really wanted to explore their selection, so I shared a sampler. Which for the price, was quite a generous sampler. Very pleased. Quite a variety of beers, but as my taste goes, I stuck with the OVL Stout. 4$ a glass was just right. The bartender was a semi alternative looking guy with a few piercings that was pretty informative, helpful, and very nice. At the end of the night I bought a bottle of their famous Damnation as a souvenier. 7$ a bottle was a nice price.

They had a jam band play that night which went pretty well with the atmosphere. Great selection!

I did not have any of the food, but from the look and smell of everything, it looked fantastic, which is why it got a 5 from me.

EDIT : They have shirts that say "Beer for Breasts - Hopping for a cure" for 10$ which all proceeds went to Breast Cancer Research. So we got one. =)

A great brewpub! I recommend it to anyone new or old to microbeers! A+

Best brewery I have ever had the pleasure to visit, during the PtY/SFBW they were awesome for how many people are trying to enter, the staff was incredibly welcoming and their food was insanely good - pliny bites! The beer, well that speaks for itself... An absolute must visit for any beer lover

Great service especially at the bar. The food is great! Their savage sauce is really good with the pizza. The pliny bites are always a hit (tip: ask for pepperoni to be added, it's free). Very reasonable prices for exceptional beers! I highly recommend you get a sampler with all the beers. Really great deal!

My wife and I stopped by during the day while we were on the way from the Napa Valley area to San Fran. The staff here is extremely helpful and good natured. The other customers were all friendly and overall the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The pizza was, and this is from a guy from Chicago, really damned tasty. I wish I had more time and didn't have to drive to San Fran right afterward as I really wanted to try every beer they had. I wasn't able to venture away from the Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig anyway. Unbelievably delicious. Really lived up to the hype and more in my eyes.

After years of being a huge fan of this brewery I finally was able to visit the source on a recent trip to Santa Rosa. I planned a vacation to the Bay Area and made it a point to spend a day in Santa Rosa so I could come here.

The vibe of this place is very cool. When you walk in there is a small seating area to the left with a few tables and a window into the barrel room. To the right there is a larger seating area with more tables, a kitchen and a wall of merchandise. Straight ahead on the left is a very long bar with the famous chalkboard looming above. To the left of the taps there is a large window with another view of the barrel room. Sitiing beneath this window was a collection of magnums, 3 liter Beatification, 6 liter Temptation and a 12 liter Damnation! The crowd was mostly young in their 20s and 30s and pretty laid back.

The selection of this place is amazing. I was so stoked to sample everything fresh from the source. In addition to Pliny, Blind Pig and Damnation, they had on Redemption, Perdition, Benediction, Russian River Porter, Russian River IPA, Supplication, Consecration, Temptation and Dead Leaf Green. The best part is they let you buy samples so that you can sample as many as you like without breaking the bank or becoming disturbingly intoxicated. They have bottles for sale as well including 3L magnums of Damnation. I would have bought one but how would I get it home? It was hard to leave this place at 1:30 in the morning but I had to wake up early and drive an hour and a half the next day.

The service here was incredible and probably the best of any beer bar, brewpub, drinking establishment I've ever been to. The place was very crowded because it was a Friday night but all of the bartenders handled it with no problem. All of them were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They were more than happy to answer questions and fill sample glasses. They also were engaging and I could talk to all of them about the different sours, availability and vintages. The one bartender Jeff was very cool, especially when I told him I came all the way from Philly just to visit the brewpub. I talked to him for a while about beer and he let me take pics with the magnums. He and everyone else there made my visit very enjoyable.

This is my favorite brewpub that I've ever visited. Between the selection, vibe, service and amazing beers, I can't imagine how they could improve it. I drank a lot here, met some really cool people and had a great time. As I mentioned above, It was nearly impossible for me to leave this place because I was having such a great time. If I was anywhere even close to this place again I would make it a point to stop by. Highly recommended!

Visited San Francisco recently, rented a car and made the hour fifteen trip to Santa Rosa. Well worth it. Went with my girlfriend and another beer drinking couple. The place was great. Service was on point and fast. Patrons were friendly. The place was busy but we were surprised on how fast the service was. The food was awesome! Recommend the Pliny bites and pizza. Fantastic. Our group was there for about 2 hours. And after our drinks, food, tshirts, and take out beer, we were well over a $300 tab. Again, well worth it. Coming from PA, it was amazing to see such an abundance of Pliny the Elder for soo cheap. Awesome, awesome place. Everyone should go

This place is awesome. I make the 2 hour drive up here fairly regularly and it never disappoints. Yes, it gets EXTREMELY crowded extremely quickly. It opens at 11 so I recommend getting there right at opening, get your haul and stash it in your car. Then go back in and enjoy some pints, some pizza and the great atmostphere.

There is no better place for IPAs or Sours in Northern California (probably anywhere actually).

Russian River Brewing Company is 1 hour north of San Francisco, and is nestled in some of the finest wine country in the world. If you are looking to have lunch, you need to get there on or near 11am. Otherwise you are risking a lengthy wait in line.

A rookie mistake to avoid is to try the entire beer sampler by yourself, because if you finish it, you will be hammered. If you have >3 people, its definitely a great option though.

This is a must visit place if you are anywhere near San Francisco. Just an amazing selection of beers and the people there are extremely nice.

One of the highlights of my trip to California was the trip to Russian River. The place had a very good feel, and it had a feel of not only it being a place where beer geeks go, but also locals who would pass the time by after work over a beer reading a newspaper or discussing the weather. EXTREMELY impressed with the sampler, containing some of their expensive releases for only $11. Service was also excellent considering the amount of people, and definitely a place I wish I could frequent more than just a night. It was also August and possibly the most prime time to have a Pliny, although I really enjoyed the Temptation much more.

Wow!

I came all the way from Maryland and this was the 'one must' brew pub / brewery stop in California on my vacation.

Came in last week in the middle of the afternoon - quite a nice crowd for 3PM! I was overwhelmed by the beer selection. I went for Perdition and Supplication. To my horror I later realized I forgot to have some Pliny. Next time!

Oh - the food. That was almost as good as the beer! My wife and I split a large salad and a pizza. Very well done, about the best pizza I've had anywhere.

The service was prompt and helpful, the prices very reasonable. The atmosphere is casual, rough and relaxing. This place 'aint no white gloves snooty joint - just a place to kick back, enjoy the beer and the food and have a good time.

I wish I could've stayed longer and drunk more - but I had to hit the road and be sober.

I absolutely love Russian River Brewing Co. I happen to have been around the area when Russian River was only available at Korbel Winery. Their beer is phenomenal and has been getting better every year since they first started. While there, we had the taster set of both the Belgian line and the standard American beer line. The Belgian beers always blow me away. From supplication, damnation, deification, benediction to pliny the younger and elder, they are just brewing amazing beers at this location. I believe this to be the best beer in Northern California and possibly the whole state.

I have not been able to get around to Russian River during a meal time, so I have not tried their fare, but I hear it is quite good.

The wait staff and the bartenders are top notch and will help you out with anything that you need. They are very attentive and attractive to boot.

Enjoy the beers. If you haven't been here yet, you need to make a special trip to this brewpub. For god's sake, get there PRONTO!

This place is great. The selection of beer is excellent. I looked at the menu on their website before I went and just the sound of both the beer and the food made my mouth water. When I got there it was even better then I expected. We had the Drew bites and the Lorenzo pizza. It was delicious. The bartenders are helpful and can answer any questions that you have. You would think that they brew the beer themselves. They might! I highly recommend Russian River Brewing Co. Get some of the best beers in the world. Oh, and Beer ToGo. Take a growler of you favorite beer home with you. If you are in the area, you have to check it out.

Probably the best beer drinking experience I've ever had was at Russian River Brewery! Arrived two days after the Younger release was over so we had no problems with crowds. Yes, we missed a great beer but I'm not willing to wait 4-8 hours. The pub has a great atmosphere with a lot of energy, between the locals at the bar and the out-of-towners sitting at the tables. The people next to us drove up from LA just for the beer. The flight of 17 beers was the best I've ever had and included some great sours like Supplication and Consecration. The pizza is great, the Pliny was good as expected and I took a bottle of Consecration home. Next stop was Laganitas.
