Stumbled on this place on my way to The Beer Engine which is a few miles down the road. I was literally turning the corner and saw a sign for Chimay so I figured, "What the heck, go check this place out." I was greeted by a kind man who was working the counter on the right as I entered and I was overwhelmed by two things: How small this place is and how much wine, beer, snacks, cigs and other related items they packed in there! The wine on the left, the beer straight ahead. I went straight ahead.

Quality: Fair to good as their selection was good for such a small place. They displayed the clean bottles in an organized way with singles typically in coolers around the edge and sixers and cases down in front in the foreground. You had to step sideways in some areas since it was so cramped. I will give it a bit above average for quality due to the respectful way that the beer is displayed. 3.5

Service: As stated, kind service but not pushy. I did not require any real service as I was in to take a look on my way to the Engine. 3.5

Selection: As stated, good with Belgians, lots and lots of craft (I can recall Ithaca, Founders, Southern Tier, New Holland as standouts). 4.0

Value: Well, I bought singles of ST 422 Pale Wheat Ale, Founder's Harvest and Weyerbacher Harvest for $8.59. Value was just o.k.

This place is basically a convenient store with a larger selection than most. I hate refering to this place as a beer store. The store is dimly lit and way overcrouded. The place was cramped and didn't have that large of a selection. Here's a list of some of the beer I found:

Corsendonk
Unibrou - basic
Stone - basic
Ommegong - basic
Chimay - red white and blue
Delerium
Founders - Cenntenial
Aventinus
Dogfish Head - basic
Bell's - basic

This is a good selection for a convenience store but not for a beer store.

I stopped by North Coast on my way into town for a football game. It is very convenient just a few blocks off of 90 coming/leaving Cleveland to the West.

The store is somewhat small with the wine selection being a little bigger than the beer selection. Craft brew was about half of the beer section with macro's taking up the other half. The majority of the craft beer was in coolers.

There were what appeared to be random selections from Alesmith, Weyerbacher, Southern Tier, Buckeye Brewing, Brooklyn, Great Lakes, Bells, North Coast, plus several others. Not sure how rare some of these are in the Cleveland area but it was a great find for someone from IL who can't get the majority of these beers. If I was local and these beers are more common I might drop the selection to 3.5 since they only offered a few beers from each brewery (I assume due to lack of space). They had seasonals also as I picked up the Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin. I suggest you look behind the first beer in the singles/bomber cooler because I found many different beers that were not visible from the front. The prices seemed reasonable.

The service was very good. Once the man behind the counter saw me stockpiling bombers he went into the back and offered me selections that just arrived that day that he hadn't had time to stock yet. He also asked if there was anything specific I was looking for that he could order for me until he realized that I was from out of town.

Overall, this was a nice stop. I highly recommend it for anyone in the area.

This place is the west side version of Warehouse Beverage, only a bit smaller. They carry many of the same, better known craft and microbrews that Warehouse Beverage carries including offerings from Stone, Unibroue, Bell's, Samuel Adams, Ommegang, Sierra Nevada, Great Lakes, New Holland, Rogue, Samuel Smith and Corsendonk just to name a few. They carry all of the Great Lakes and Stone seasonals when in season (at least the Stone ones that are distributed in this region of Ohio). I have friends and family on the west side. I also used to work on the west side and will be again starting this fall so I will continue to stop in this joint from time to time. Very good beer selection, especially considering the size of this store. Well over half their beers are in coolers too, unlike Warehouse Beverage. The prices to me at least are not any more expensive than any other beverage store I have been to in the Cleveland area. This store also has a nice selection of wine for you wine lovers out there. The staff is friendly and chatty and are always happy to make a recommendation (and its always a good one). If you live on Cleveland's west side or will be passing through there, check this place out.

This was a hunch. While in Cleveland for a weekend wedding I drove past this place. On my own time I went back on the hunch (and from previous experience) that places that sell wine often sell individual (by the bottle or 6) beers.

My BA radar was right. What a little gem this is! Manny (one of the owners/managers) was very nice and offered many suggestions. The selection is great. At least 1/2 to 2/3's of a wall cooler is devoted to craft beers by the pack. A sepertate stand alone cooler had individual bottles (from 12oz to 750's) of a variety of harder to find beers in this part of the country (Stone, Unibroue, Sammy Smith, Belgian imports, etc). Prices were reasonable. An added plus is that, thanks to their suggestion, I was directed right down the street (literally) to the Warren Tavern for a great BA lunch.

If you live in/near Cleveland, check em' out, then go get a Reuben at the Warren Tavern.

North Coast is a lot of beer for the small little store. Coming from a land void of Stone Brewing beers (Illinois) I was happy to see their selection was decent. They also had a few other local/east coast brews that I can't find in Illinois. It was nice that they had most of the beer in a cooler and not sitting on the floor like the AB products. The staff was helpful but didn't know a lot about beers just the names of what they had and didn't have. They have a little wine section and a humidor with a few decent cigars selection but nothing to get excited about.

This is a new shop, just a couple months old, but the owners seem to be really keen on increasing their selection and taking suggestions from customers. A must visit if you want to add your input to which beers they should carry.

All the beers are refrigerated. Not many singles, but a good, fresh selection of beers, and growing. The Belgium selection is also growing as well. Would like to see more bombers, but I'm sure it won't be long. Good to see another store interested in bringing good beer to the Cleveland area.
