Poured into tulip from a bottle dated 4/17/14. So was drank 4 days from bottling.

Pours a nice golden straw color. Crystal clear with a one finger pure white head that quickly dissipates which is expected from this ABV.

Smell is quite typical of your standard tripel with esters and such but the barrel adding charred oak, burnt sugar and some alcohol.

Taste follows the aroma for the most part, a nice malty sweetness. With banana and some pepper yeast esters. A fairly strong oak presence with vanilla and a nice amount of molasses (from the rum barrel no doubt) improving as it warms.

Mouthfeel is a medium body with a good carbonation level (I find many triples over carbed for my liking) But you can tell its a bigger beer with the booze overpowering some of the subtler rum barrel notes that I'm itching to find.

Overall I'm quite pleased with this latest offering in the brick mason series. Red brick have came along way in the last few years in my opinion, and have enjoyed what they have done with their barrel program and look forward to what they offer in the future.

appearance: Darker than Tripel's i've had. More honey colored than golden. Head not a big and creamy as usual, maybe due to the barrel treatment?
smell: very nice. The yeasty, spicy Tripel thing is there but the vanilla, oak from the rum barrel treatment is something special.
taste: Much like the nose, not quite as tasty as the nose promises. there is a bit of sourness in the finish that doesn't quite fit with the richness of the other flavors imo. Still very nice though.
overall: Very nice, unexpectedly good brew.

Red Brick 3-Bagger has a thin, white head, a hazy, orange-gold appearance, lots of bubble streams and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of faint rum, sweet malts and sugar, and light fruit. Taste is of strong rum, vanilla, sugar, white bread, and light fruit, with a damped-down hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Red Brick 3-Bagger finishes semi-wet and sip-able.

12oz bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 11.99/ 4 pack. No bottling date but this was released 04/2014. Served in a Red Brick snifter.

Pours a mostly opaque golden amber with a quarter finger white head. The froth recedes to a thin ring and leaves only a few small specks of lace.

Inviting aromas of rum, banana, apples, vanilla and sugar.

Flavor follows the nose- rum, caramel, marshmallows, bananna, vanilla, clove, honey, toasted oak, faint apple and a little alchohol. Deliciously sweet and smooth.

Medium full, semi syrupy feel with nice soft carbonation. Aftertaste of toasted oak and bannas Foster.

Smoother than I remember, 3 Bagger is some tasty and unique stuff. The rum barreling pairs well with the base tripel. This is further proof that Red Brick has really upped their game.

12 oz bottle courtesy of fthomasl pours a mostly clear orange color with a small, rapidly diminishing cap of white head. No lacing.

Nose is acloholic fruit, peanut butter and what reminds me of a New Orleans Hurricane. An interesting combo to say the least...basically heavy malt for the style, rum character, sweetness and fruity yeast.

The taste reminds me of a Hurricane too with the high sweetness, strong rum character and laden fruit. Not a huge fan of this one, just too over the top and the fruit and alcohol are running as rampant as the dude on the label. I'll finish it, but wont be going back for more anytime soon.

Poured into an Ikea snifter. The liquid is a nice gold/fig color with beautiful red hues. The pour kicks up a frothy off-white head that fades to a thin film after a few minutes and leaves good lace.

Aroma is lots of dark fruit and bready malts - like a super-thick raisin bread. There's a warm alcohol presence, and a hint of a weird buttery flavor that works pretty well.

Taste follows the nose. Lots of dark fruit up front - raisins, figs, grapes - and bready malts. The finish is warming from alcohol and a bit drying, and the aftertaste is lots of dark fruit along with a bit of butteriness. I think the rum barrels are really ratcheting the dark fruit up several notches, as this is pretty intensely raisiny.

Mouthfeel is fairly thick, with a moderate amount of carbonation.

Overall, nice dark fruits that are really pleasantly accentuated by the time spent in the rum barrels!
