12oz poured into pint glass

A: Pours golden orange, clear but not - ever so hazy, capped with a tight white foam head

S: Resin note, sweet malt

T: Piney hops, very full flavor, touch of light malt and grass

M: Light bodied, tongue stimulating, refreshing

This bottle was at least nine months old at the time of the review.

Pours dark yellow with little to no white head. There is hardly any aroma, with some malt being present. The flavor is different than expected, with lots of caramel malt and possibly even some chocolate. There is some hop presence, but it has probably faded over time. Medium mouthfeel and lower carbonation. Even though this is an old beer, I still really enjoyed it even though it is probably not as the brewer intended.

bottle into mug

a- It looks standard, a nice copper like brownish orange. Carbonation is good and the head is humble, white with little retension.

s- A more mellow bitter smell then some other bitters.

glug glug glug
t- Hits up front with a bursting hoppy flavor. Carbonates nicely into a kind of buttery shortbread like finish.

m- fine and beer like.

d- pretty good, a little different within its style. not the best in its group either. would drink again happily.

Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into a snifter.
The cap gives a bit of a pop and I expect a gusher, but instead the beer, even poured gently gives an overwhelming fluffy orange peel white head of 4 cm and only half the bottle is poured. Not good.
The beer itself pours a very clear goldish amber hue with multiple streams of carbonation rising to the surface.
Aroma is very mild with only hints of grain and a bit of floral hops.
First sip, now that the head has faded leaving sticky lattice clinging to the sides of the glass in clumps.
Average to light body with very fine and fizzy carb that tickles my palate.
Flavor is grainy malt and a bit of doughy yeast mixed in, overall fairly mild and finishes with a lite floral note that makes me imagine chewing on a flower petal. Not really bitter kind of sweet like honey.
No hint of ABV anywhere.
Not an overly complex beer and the carbonation takes away from enjoying the flavor and hurts the drinkability a tad, but otherwise a decent easy drinking summer beer.

Thanks goes out to Jhill for this one.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy off-white head, with some nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, slight hop, slight tangyness. The taste is malty, bitter, slightly hoppy, slight tangyness. Medium body. Drinkable, not a bad brew at that.

#'s Ale pours a clear light orange with an off white head from a brown twelve ounce bottle. I mostly get pale untoasted malt in the nose. Light bodied, more American tasting than English, malt is dominant and there is a decent bitterness to it but the hops are hard for me to put my finger on, they are a touch earthy but there's not any citrus. Light, decent and pretty sessionable, good on a hot day.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass

A: Almost clear, golden orange, nice big shaving cream head, foamy with good lace blotches

S: Sort of resiny, skunky hops, hints of a malt backbone, kind of strange aroma

T: Nice building hop bitterness that doesn't seem to stop, it builds but the flavor doesn't seem to develop the bitterness just increases, it doesn't help that no malt backs it up in the taste, leaves texture in the mouth afterward

M: Good, about what I would expect, has body but doesn't get in the way

D: If there was more balance it would be higher

Notes: I really like bitters. I especially like all the hop presence balanced out by the malt backbone usually. This one however doesn't really have a malt backbone in terms of flavor. I would definitely like to see some more malt and also more hop flavor instead of just the high bitterness.

Pours a clear light gold with mild to light carbonation visible. A light white head that left lacing on my glass.

Smell of a weak citrus fruity aroma and pale malts. Not a whole lot else.

Taste of bitterness. Not specifically grapefruit or citrus bitterness, but just bitter. Not overly bitter, but definitely bitter. There is some fruit flavor in the beer as well, similar to a weakened juicy fruit flavor.

Mouthfeel pretty light, some would say watery. From what I gather this is a lower abv, but none listed on Beer advocate to help me out. Also cannot find a freshness dating or ABV on the label. I do however know that it won the Bronze award at the 2008 Beer World Cup for Bitters.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Short lasting white head gives way to straw golden ale with an aroma of...not hops? Not sure what the aroma is actually? I assume that it smells bitter but I'm used to bitterness in the form of hops and this one is a bit different. Sort of has the aftertaste of a Miller High Life. Obviously not my favorite style of beer, this one is not unpleasant, but probably not one that I would seek again.

Pours with a head of fluffy white foam. The body is clear. The foam settlesd leaving a decent lace.

A light aroma of malt with hops and fruity pear. Sweet malty taste Some hoppyness in the malt. Finishes ok. A little to much carbonation for my palate, but it is drinkable. Not to impressed with this offering from this brewer .

Thanks to UGADawgGuy for the opportunity.

Pours a hazy orange gold. A two finger white frothy head falls to a thick cap. Leaves moderate sheets of lace.
Aroma is predominately butter. There may be some light malts behind there, but not much. No noticeable hops.
Taste is light malts but with lots of butter. Light bitterness to the finish, but no specific hop character.
Light body and nice and creamy. Moderate carbonation.

While light diacetyl presence is allowed, BJCP, in my opinion it goes too far. Too far!

The aroma is kind of dirty with a grapefruit like hop and cheap malt. The aroma is not all together that good but oddly not skunked. The appearance is golden with a nice head. The flavor is like cheap lager with a malt liquor like taste or maybe dish water and yeast. The palate is average for this style but the finish is astringent. Overall I have to say it is not good at all.
