This is a local brew from Atlanta, and from what I can tell not very well known. Thinking this hasn't been around very long either. Pours a medium amber orange color, with some yeast sediment in the pour. Doesn't affect the taste but does affect the look. The nose has floral and fruit hints. Taste is creamy and has hints of grapefruit. Very good beer, a little pricey even here in Atlanta, but something I will have in my fridge if available.

From a 22 oz bottle.
Slightly hazy amber-golden body with an excellent head.
More than adequately hoppy for style, with an earthy-hoppy aroma that is not my cup of tea. The robust flavor is more appealing.
High ABV is well hidden.

From tasting notes. L: Pours orangish gold with a slight haze crowned by a clingy, slowly receding 2” frothy white.
S: Malt, earthy hops, citrus, herbal spice, light fruit, peach.
T: Sweet malt up front with hop driven fruit flavors, ruby red grapefruit, resin, light caramel, dries out on the finish with a citrus rind bitter finish.
F: Creamy smooth, medium to medium full body, medium to medium low carbonation
O: A big, full flavored, juicy DIPA.

Bottle served into a tulip shaped glass.

Appearance: murky yellow, amber with a thick white head. The hop particles are largely visible floating around the glass. Some of the head is composed of the hop particles.

Smell: Piney, hoppy, citrusy, vanilla, apple skins, cinnamon

Taste: piney, hoppy, and bitter on the front end. I can taste the alcohol on the back end. I can also taste in the middle the sweetness from the apple skins and vanilla.

the mouthfeel is thick and highly carbonated.

Overall This is my favorite unfiltered Double IPA. I love that the hop presence cuts through in this one. It goes down very smooth. I feel like this beer could have been better blended with hiding the alcohol taste because it also cuts through somewhat.

UPDATE

This beer tastes really boozy. There is a definite alcohol presencez. Not my favorite.

This is a more heavily malty beer than I would hope for the style. There is also a bit of a burn from alcohol on it as well. It's definitely a decent drinker, but for the style, I would hope for a lot more to be giving me an interesting experience. I could definitely pass on this one, but I guess it's always okay to be trying a new beer.

A - Oours with a massive, three finger head of off white foam on top of a hazy, golden brown body. The head settles slowly and leaves good lace on the glass.

S - a sweaty Hop aroma with notes of pine and dirty socks as well as caramel and dark bread in the background.

T - Sweaty hops and dark sugar up front. Some pine and light clove in the middle with notes of brown sugar. Finishes with notes of red apple, pine and anise.

M - Medium thick body, moderately high carbonation, and a balanced finish.

D - a bit on the dark side for an ipa. The aroma is relatively promising, but the hops are really muted in the flavor profile and the heavy malt doesn't help. At least it isn't infected, which is more than I can say for some other beers from this brewery.

Sampled from a 12oz bottle purchased at The Beer Dispensary in Apex, NC.

A - A light golden color with a slight haze and a moderate white head. Good lacing.

S - Varied and complex hop aromas with both citrus and pine.

T - Starts nice with a citrus flavor and bitterness but hollows out a bit in the middle and finish.

M - A moderate carbonation of fine bubbles. But a bit thin for a DIPA.

O - Some good aspects but not complex or rich enough for a DIPA. After trying the IPA, I was careful to avoid the sediment but I lost a good amount of the beer as a result.
