It’s Hoppier then a bullfrog with a stubbed toe: Yup, you read correctly. Red Brick now has a year round IPA called HopLanta! Look for HopLanta in 1/2 barrels, 1/6 barrels and 6 packs. Be sure to look for it in stores and restaurants near you!

Appearance - Deep orange color that pours about a finger of an off white head. Kind of a hazy/mildly cloudy body, but has a beautiful almost "glow" when held up to a light. There are lots of small carbonation bubbles rising to the surface that maintains a decent head all the way to the bottom of the glass. Moderate lacing.

Smell - The hops are definitely showcased here, and it works. I didn't expect too much from this in state offering, but as soon as I took the first smell that all changed. This beer has a wonderful hop aroma that compliments the malt character rather than overpowering it. Sweet citrus smell up front that kind of fades to more of a piney funky nose.

Taste - Short window of sweet malts mixed with orange up front, but quickly fades into a more bitter but kind of mellow flavor. I really wished the great citrus shined for a little longer, because towards the end of the flavor it just sort of drops off and turns to nothing but bitter. Still good in my opinion though.

Mouthfeel - Fairly highly carbonated for the style, not to the extent of being excessive though. Nice mouthfeel, sticks around your tongue for a while.

Overall - I was definitely happy to have picked this up in a mixed 6-pack. It is a beer that I haven't really heard any hype about, but it impressed me a good bit. Very nice IPA with a good blend of fruity citrus and a nice bitter finish.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Sam Adams imperial pint.

You think you've seen hazy IPAs before like Smuttynose Finestkind? Think again. This one takes delicious flavor particles to a whole new level, with chunks of whutzit suspended all through the glass. It's unfiltered, and I had bottles in my six-pack with less sediment than this one. The aroma is brightly hoppy, with plenty of citrus and a touch of caramel malts. The taste is bright and very strong with the citrus and grapefruit at first, then coming on strong with bright hops and a bit of grapefruit rind. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side and highly carbonated, it works wonderfully with the bright flavors this IPA offers. Overall, this is a very solid IPA from Red Brick. It's not as nice as the Double IPA they rotate in their Brick Mason series, but it's still very good.

Pours slightly less than clear with a barely off white head that has very good
retention with decent side glass lacing.
Aroma: Leads with Citrus and pine nut hops.
Taste: biscuit malts lead up front providing nice balance with the citrus like malts. Hops are
moderate and do not dominate the up front malts. Ends with a hoppy bitter finish.

I like the red frog on the yellow label. This IPA features a monstrous pour that overflowed my pint and left a giant eggshell head and layers of sticky lace. The body is an opaque light brown. Nose features citrus and pine and some floral notes as well. Strong start.

Strong hop presence from the front but not as west coast dominated as most American IPAs. Noble hopping is noticeable in the clean, pleasant aftertaste. Carbonation is solid but not overwhelming. Not much for malt flavors. This is a tasty, good looking, tightly made IPA. Not a superstar, but extremely solid and drinkable
